Alonso, Leverkusen, and Real Madrid

Musa and Ryan begin with a very quick shout-out for some results in the Premier League, La Liga, and Serie A (00:30), before being joined by Seb Stafford-Bloor (09:00). They discuss St. Pauli’s 1-1 draw with Bayer Leverkusen, which all but sealed the title for Bayern; Xabi Alonso’s future; whether he will stay at Leverkusen or head to Madrid; and whether this season may have been slightly underrated from a Leverkusen perspective. There’s also talk about the draw from St. Pauli’s point of view, increasing their chances of staying up in what has been a brilliant season back in the Bundesliga so far (38:50). Barca and Real grab last-gasp winners as Napoli go level with Inter

Jimbo’s got Julien Laurens, Seb Stafford-Bloor, Pol Ballús and Italian expert Max Callegari alongside him to recap all the latest action from across the continent. Fresh off the back of last week’s thrilling Champions League quarterfinals - it’s back to domestic matters - but with a nod to the small matter of Arsenal v PSG and Barcelona v Inter just around the corner… Back in Serie A, Napoli moved level on points with Inter at the top of the table after the Nerazzurri were beaten 1-0 by a stunning goal from substitute Riccardo Orsolini. So, could we be heading towards a play-off to decide who takes the Scudetto?! In Spain, Barcelona and Real Madrid scored dramatic stoppage-time winners to keep the La Liga title race alive ahead of Saturday’s Copa del Rey final between the two. No such luck for Atleti though, who saw their slim title hopes dashed courtesy of a late defeat at the hands of our favourites Las Palmas. Over in France, it’s all eyes on Arsenal for PSG as they continued their march to an unbeaten league season with a 2-1 win at Le Havre. Marseille put five past Montpellier to take back second place from Monaco - but it’s their plans for the rest of the campaign which have raised a few eyebrows… And in Germany, the Bundesliga title race is all but over as Bayern Munich thrashed Heidenheim 4-0 to move eight points clear after Leverkusen were held at St Pauli. But could Xavi Alonso’s focus be elsewhere with links to the Real Madrid job growing stronger? Produced by Lucy Oliva. RUNNING ORDER: • PART 1: Moments of the weekend - well, four French moments of the weekend (00.45) • PART 2: Serie A review - Orsolini stuns Inter as Napoli move level on points (06.30) • PART 3: Ligue 1 review - PSG prepare for Arsenal and Marseille head to… Rome?! (18.00) • PART 4: La Liga review - Raphinha and Valverde bag dramatic late winners (32.50) • PART 5: Bundesliga review - Bayern all but champions as Dortmund’s resurgence continues (45.45) Hosted on Acast. Not a Classic Manchester Derby, but Positives for United?

Musa and Ryan begin with a quick Premier League round-up (02:51), which saw Fulham inflict only the second league defeat of the season for Liverpool. Villa and Forest also served up a cracker at Villa Park, and it was goals and red cards at Selhurst Park. Plus, Southampton were relegated. They then turn their attention to the Manchester derby, which wasn’t a classic, and a catalyst to talk about Manchester United, Ruben Amorim, and the club’s future (08:04). Finally, there’s a quick look around La Liga, where Valencia won at the Bernabéu for the first time in 17 years (29:38), plus the Bundesliga and Serie A. How have Juventus fallen so far?

The days of Juventus winning Serie A season after season feel like they’re long gone. Last week, Thiago Motta was sacked with Juve languishing outside of the top four places. Add to that, they’re out of the Champions League and Coppa Italia as well. So… what has gone wrong at Juventus, and how do they rebuild? PSG almost champions as Mbappe and Lukaku bag big goals in title races

Jimbo’s joined by Pol Ballús, Julien Laurens, Rory Smith & Seb Stafford-Bloor as the domestic action returns across Europe with the end of the season in sight. Inter remain three points clear at the top of the Serie A table after their 2-1 win over Udinese, while Romelu Lukaku scored the 400th goal of his career in Napoli’s vital victory over struggling Milan to keep the pressure on the leaders. Over in Spain, three points is also the gap between Barcelona and Real Madrid - who both recorded wins with braces from Mbappe and Lewandowski. Plus, Antony’s Betis just can’t stop winning in a fiery Seville derby. PSG continued to romp towards the Ligue 1 title - which is now all but mathematically sealed - with an emphatic 6-1 victory at Saint-Etienne, while Strasbourg are on their best run in six years after their impressive 4-2 win over Lyon. Elsewhere, Marseille suffered a hat-trick of defeats as they were beaten 3-1 by lowly Reims - their first league victory since November. And in Germany, defeat for Leipzig at Gladbach spelled the end for Marco Rose, with Thomas Tuchel’s former assistant Zsolt Low installed as interim boss. Harry Kane’s a step closer to winning his first title as he made it 58 goals in 57 Bundesliga appearances in Bayern’s 3-2 win over St Pauli. Produced by Lucy Oliva. RUNNING ORDER: • PART 1: Moments of the weekend (00.45) • PART 2: Serie A review - Napoli breathing down Inter’s neck (09.40) • PART 3: La Liga review - Atleti’s challenge over as Barca stay top (23.25) • PART 4: Bundesliga review - Rose shown the door (41.30) • PART 5: Ligue 1 review - Marseille slump continues as PSG close in on title (55.10) Hosted on Acast. Bellingham and Mbappé Brilliance, Two-Horse Races in La Liga and Serie A

Before moving on to some big results from the weekend, Musa gives his thoughts on Thomas Tuchel’s first two games as the England men’s manager (04:23), before he and Ryan touch on the FA Cup quarter finals (11:32). They then head to La Liga and Serie A, where the title races seemed to lose contenders this weekend. In La Liga (17:21), Atlético's draw with Espanyol continued a run of patchy form that has seen them fall six points behind Real Madrid and nine behind Barcelona, both of whom won this weekend. In Serie A (32:45), despite dramatic ends to both games, Napoli and Inter won, while Atalanta lost a second game in a row—dropping from the top two. Atleti and Real go again in Madrid derby as Bayern, Bayer and Dortmund all lose

Jimbo’s joined by Julien Laurens, Pol Ballús and Seb Stafford-Bloor for a deep-dive into domestic and European matters across the continent. Last week’s Champions League first legs left some results more conclusive than others… we’re looking at you, PSV 1-7 Arsenal! But there’s still plenty of intrigue with the ties between Liverpool and PSG, Real and Atleti and Barca and Benfica finely poised. In La Liga, Real warmed up for their trip across the capital with a 2-1 win over Rayo Vallecano, while Atleti were on the wrong end of that scoreline in a dramatic late defeat at Girona. Meanwhile Barcelona’s game with Osasuna was postponed just 20 minutes before kick-off following the sudden death of first team doctor Carles Miñarro Garcia. In Ligue 1, PSG’s B-team made light work of Rennes to move 16 points clear at the top of the table - while Paulo Fonseca began his nine month (!) touchline ban as he watched his side beat Nice 2-0 from the stands to put themselves right in the mix for European football next season. Max Callegari - host of Pressing on Canale 5 - joins us to run the rule over all the Serie A action, which included humiliation for Juve, a first win in six for Napoli and spookily similar comebacks for Milan and Inter. And in the Bundesliga, there was history as for the first time in nearly 20 years Bayern, Leverkusen and Dortmund all lost on the same matchday. Produced by Lucy Oliva. RUNNING ORDER: • PART 1: Moments of the weekend and Champions League teases (00.40) • PART 2: La Liga review - Mixed fortunes for Madrid sides as tragedy hits Barca (09.40) • PART 3: Ligue 1 review - PSG flying high as Fonseca begins his touchline ban (19.35) • PART 4: Serie A review - Juve out of the title race as Milan sides stage 3-2 comebacks (33.30) • PART 5: Bundesliga review - big boys all beaten as Bayer, Bayern and Dortmund lose (45.30) Hosted on Acast. Cesc’s Como shock Conte’s Napoli, while intriguing last 16 ties await

Jimbo’s got Julien Laurens, Seb Stafford-Bloor, Rory Smith and Pol Ballús alongside him for all the latest continental chatter. Friday afternoon’s Champions League draw presented some fascinating match-ups including Real v Atleti, Bayern v Bayer and PSG v Liverpool. We’ve got a closer look at all those ties with the round of 16 looming… In La Liga, it was a rare weekend where all three title challengers registered three fairly comfortable wins! It leaves Barca and Real locked on 54 points at the top, with Atleti just a point behind. Over in France there was plenty of drama on and off the pitch - with cowboy hats, calls of corruption and meltdowns caught on CCTV. But away from all that, the table shows that PSG have extended their lead at the top to 13 points after their 3-2 victory at Lyon. Speaking of corruption - Slovenian ref Slavko Vincic was parachuted in to referee the Istanbul derby after a season marred by controversial officiating and allegations of foulplay. It was a rather eventful evening as Galatasaray said they would "initiate criminal proceedings" against Fenerbahce manager Jose Mourinho after claiming he made "racist statements" following the teams' 0-0 draw. For a closer look at Serie A we’re joined by Sky Italia’s Filippo Benincampi - as Cesc’s Como got the better of Conte’s Napoli to cost them top spot, Inter taking full advantage with their 1-0 win over Genoa. And in the Bundesliga, there were finally signs of life for Dortmund as Niko Kovac picked up his first league win courtesy of a four-goal haul from Serhou Guirassy, aided by super sub and Chelsea loanee Carney Chukwuemeka. Produced by Lucy Oliva. RUNNING ORDER: • PART 1: Moments of the weekend and Champions League round of 16 teases (00.40) • PART 2: La Liga review - the big three all win while Antony sees red (07.15) • PART 3: Ligue 1 review - chaos off and on the pitch for Lyon v PSG and Auxerre v Marseille (19.00) • PART 4: Galatasaray 0-0 Fenerbahce fallout (35.00) • PART 5: Serie A review - Napoli feel the pressure, plus could Gasperini and Atalanta’s love affair be coming to an end? (43.25) • PART 5: Bundesliga review - Dortmund finally show signs of life with Bayer v Bayern on the horizon (57.00) Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Real Madrid and Man City go again, as Kompany’s Bayern edge closer to the title

Jimbo’s joined by Julien Laurens, Seb Stafford-Bloor, Pol Ballús and Michael Cox for your weekly dose of European action. We begin with the big F-bomb controversy which has taken La Liga by storm, Nabil Bentaleb’s dream return to action for Lille - and a look ahead to the all-important Champions League Knockout Round Play-off second legs, with Real v Man City topping the midweek billing. Elsewhere in Spain, the costly red cards for Bellingham and Barrios meant Real and Atleti left the door wide open for Barcelona who faced Rayo Vallecano on Monday night (after we’d recorded) - and it turns out that Antony fella is actually quite good - after making in three goals in three games at new home Betis… Over in Germany, it looks like Bayern Munich have one hand on the Bundesliga title after their goalless draw with closest rivals Bayer Leverkusen means the gap at the top of the table stays at eight points. Elsewhere the domestic misery continues to pile on Borussia Dortmund, beaten 2-0 by Bochum and sitting 11th in the league. In Italy, Juventus continued their surge up the Serie A table with a 1-0 win over Inter in the Derby d'Italia. It means Simone Inzaghi’s side missed the chance to go top after leaders Napoli had fallen to their third consecutive draw, held 2-2 by Lazio. Weston McKennie captained Juventus in a massive win over Inter (04:33), Daryl Dike made his long-awaited return, and Josh Sargent rescued Norwich—but what does it all mean for the USMNT (08:35)? Plus, should Milan fans be concerned about Christian Pulisic ahead of Tuesday’s must-win Champions League clash (25:11)? The guys go back-and-forth on Timothy Weah's best position (31:28). And have Auston Trusty and Cameron Carter-Vickers done enough at Celtic to catch Mauricio Pochettino’s attention (37:08) ? Juve Win the Derby d'Italia, Missed Chances at Leverkusen, and More

There were some big games at the top of tables this weekend, featuring draws, some wins, and a lot of missed chances. Musa and Ryan begin with Juventus’ crucial 1-0 win over Inter in the Derby d’Italia (03:20), which came as a huge relief to Napoli, who dropped points for the third game in a row. They then head to Leverkusen, who were frustrated by Bayern and held to a goalless draw, which hindered their title hopes (09:25), before dropping in on La Liga, where both Real Madrid and Atleti went down to 10 men and dropped points (14:44). Finally, they head to the Premier League (22:38), where Kaoru Mitoma scored a goal-of-the-season contender; Liverpool, Arsenal, and Manchester City won at the top of the table; and there was more Moyes magic and a much-needed win for Spurs against Manchester United.
