Jules & Andy: Tottenham change their furlough decision and players pledge their support

First Liverpool, now Tottenham – we react to Spurs' decision to reverse their furlough policy on today's episode of Jules & Andy, as fans now demand their clubs adhere to firm moral standards. We also the new #PlayersTogether policy that a raft of Premier League players have created to help fund those on the NHS' frontline and ask whether the public perception of footballers will be deservedly improved by this initiative. We also some questions via your correspondence, with topics ranging from footballers we've dreamed about having a kick about with, to our favourite Pot Noodle flavours. The Ramble: Soccer Gobs

What can £200m get you in the current climate? One Harry Kane, or one genetically modified, bionically enhanced everyman, transformed into a world beater? This is just one of the questions we attempt to answer today, as there seems like no better rational response to these persistent rumours about Kane upping and leaving North London. That’s not the only squabble going on though, the president of the Gabonese FA wants Pierre-Emerick Aubamayang to leave Arsenal, a man has been spotted flouting government issued advice to chase a picnic umbrella and it’s all kicking off in Scotland. As well as all this there is also, of course, our review of Soccer Dog 2: European Cup. Thank goodness we’ll never have to do that again. The Preview Show: Military Man Power

We're back with a preview show, sponsored by Betway, and today we're talking about why Aleksander Ceferin wants to give the league title to Liverpool, why Ronaldinho is no longer in prison, and why Pete Donaldson has everything he needs under lockdown in Soho. Elsewhere, we hear from one of the stars of Pete's Film Club, we play a controversial round of The Masked Winger, and we take a trip back through The Time Tunnel and find Marcus, in a toilet, with a man from Middlesbrough. The Future of Football: The World Cup

Mark Chapman is joined by The Athletic's Amy Lawrence, Raphael Honigstein and Ed Malyon to look at the future of the mother of all football tournaments - the FIFA World Cup. Will Qatar hosting in winter and the expansion to 48 teams in 2026 ruin the World Cup as we know and love it? With yet more allegations of corruption surfacing can we really take the tournament seriously anymore? Or will the World Cup continue to unite people and nations despite the controversy and critics? On The Continent: Cyber training in Germany and the great Radomir Antić

Wilkommen! Our resident space investigators, Luke Moore and Andy Brassell, are back with a brand new episode of On The Continent! We begin over in Germany, as genuine fear spreads that as many as a third of professional German sides could be declare bankruptcy. We discuss how clubs like Schalke are attempting to combat the problem, as well as talking about some actual football since some clubs have begun highly-regulated training. Unfortunately, Kingsley Coman and Corentin Tolisso completely forgot the social distancing guidelines and hugged each other upon arrival at Bayern training… Meine Güte. Elsewhere, we discuss Javiert Tebas’ work in Spain and his continued updates about how La Liga aims to complete the season, while Toni Kroos has copped some unwarranted flack for his thoughts around players donating some of their wages. We also spare a moment to celebrate the great life of Randomir Antić, the celebrated Serbian manager who won the double with Atlético in 1995/96 and remains the only man to manage Spain’s big three clubs, after his sad passing. Fantasy Five-a-Side: Jules Breach

On today’s episode of Fantasy Five-a-Side, Jim welcomes a fellow host from Football Ramble Daily! You’ll know her from BT Sport, Premier League Productions and, of course, Jules & Andy: it’s our very own Jules Breach! She’s here to talk us through her dream five-a-side squad featuring a heady mix of Premier League stalwarts, Brighton legends and a man who’s played for both Newcastle United and Newcastle Jets, weirdly enough. Jules insists she’ll dictate play from the bench as their demanding manager rather than getting stuck in on the pitch, all while being ably supported by a legendary Jamaican compatriot. Jules & Andy: Liverpool change their decision and we hear from Aldershot Town manager Danny Searle

With Liverpool changing their decision around placing their non-playing staff on furlough, we begin today’s Jules & Andy with a discussion about the high standards the club is held to and the moral dilemmas other Premier League clubs face. Elsewhere, as the National League announces it will extend the season indefinitely, we speak to Aldershot Town manager Danny Searle about how the club is faring in these unprecedented times. He gives us some fascinating insight into the contractual situation of the majority of their squad, his worries for younger players coming through the ranks and how he thinks this season can be resolved. The Ramble: Baileys and screaming

How are we going to get by without any football? With rampant transfer speculation of course! The rumour mill has increased production with everyone seemingly having decided that Harry Kane will be leaving Spurs on his behalf, Arsenal saying it’s “hard to rule out” a move for Jesse Lingard and Gareth Bale being targeted by Everton. We’ll take it. We also have time to learn about Troy Deeney once refusing to board a flight because Odion Ighalo didn’t pass to him, Alan Shearer’s abrasive telephone manner and a position unique to Germany; the Space Investigator. The Preview Show: Getting everyone into trouble

Who needs actual football when we’ve got Nobby Solano getting in trouble with the law thanks to a Peruvian prank show? When we’ve got Borussia Mönchengladbach’s novel plan to fill their stadium with cutouts of fans? When we’ve got Son Hueng-Min: Super Soldier? And if you do want some of the important stuff, a European league has made a decision! Belgium have decided to crown Club Brugge champions. Will this have a knock on effect as the Premier League starts considering drastic options to finish the season? Almost certainly not. On top of all this we revisit one of our most notorious shows in Time Tunnel, learn of more video vans, discuss Richard Keys’ acting chops and potentially reveal evidence of a crime. On The Continent: Remembering Pape Diouf and The Sommelier strikes back

We start today’s episode of On The Continent with a deserved tribute to one of French football’s favourite sons, as former Marseille president Pape Diouf sadly passed away this week. We remember his incredible journey from humble beginnings in Chad to establishing himself as a respected football journalist and eventual club president, all while endearing himself to the French football public. Elsewhere, as clubs around Europe struggle with the financial fallout from the Coronavirus pandemic, we discuss whether the decision should rest on the players to donate some of their wages to non-playing staff or if that should be up to clubs and the authorities. There’s also time for a lowdown of the increasingly tense relationship between Lionel Messi and the Barcelona hierarchy, as well as some powerful statements from Atalanta supporters’ groups. And finally – roll up, roll up, it’s time for the clash of the century. It’s the F1 car vs the go-kart; it’s beautiful goals vs beautiful features; yes, we make time to discuss the Karim Benzema vs Olivier Giroud beef! Fancy getting in touch? Ramble Meets... James Montague

On today’s Ramble Meets… we welcome author James Montague to talk about his experiences writing his new book, 1312: Among the Ultras. James has travelled to over 90 countries while writing the encapsulating football stories he’s become famous for, and this latest book documents another classic gonzo-style voyage to the inner workings of football’s ultra culture. He sits down with Luke to recount his experiences in the scene, from talking to the heads of ultra firms who typically hold disdain for the outside media, to being invited to organised brawls. James discusses his own moral dilemma in writing the book and presenting it for the reader to judge the stories, as well as the gambles he took with his own safety to get stories from some of the most dangerous fans in the world. Jules & Andy: Lower divisions are cancelled and clubs turn to their communities

After her Coronavirus-enforced obscene last week, Jules Breach makes her welcome return on this week’s episode of Jules & Andy! Her and Andy Brassell reconvene in the wake of The FA’s decision to end and expunge the results of tiers three to six of the football pyramid. We discuss the appeal that many clubs have signed to try and reverse the decision, as well as the steps other clubs are taking to instead help those in need within their community. We also try to gauge the possible domino effect this could have on those teams above them in the professional game who still, in theory, have seasons to complete. We also get to some of your correspondence, which includes questions around clubs’ finances in the wake of the crisis, some of our clubs’ favourite academy prospects and yet another bout of Newcastle takeover rumours. The Ramble: Pete Roulette

World Cup style camps. That’s the phrase that’s all the rage at the moment. The Premier League are continuing to look at ways to finish the season and good on them. Will we have a bizarre little behind-closed-doors conclusion to the season this summer? We just don’t know. In other news it looks like Newcastle United actually have a strong chance of winning the FA Cup this season, Arsenal have been engaging in a spot of espionage and Graeme Souness is still really angry about everything about Paul Pogba. There’s also time to learn more about Edinburgh’s bacon boys and of course, Pete’s Film Club, in which he robs yet more hours of our lives. The Blizzard: England 1-0 Belgium, 1990

On today’s episode of Greatest Games, in association with The Blizzard, historian Tom Holland joins us to discuss one of the standout moments in English football history: England 1-0 Belgium from Italia '90! With travelling England fans in near-penal exile on the island of Sardinia, Italian authorities were incredibly anxious throughout the entire tournament about the prospect of more of the hooliganism that had plagued previous England away games. After Bobby Robson’s side stuttered through their opener against Ireland, he changed to a back three – which immediately paid dividends. They escaped out of their group and then knocked out a Belgium side who probably deserved to win the game, thanks to that cracking volley from David Platt. We return to survey the barren landscape of football, where yet again James Milner steps up to provide for all in a time of need, this time with a comprehensive physical pun XI. Get that man a statue, outside every ground in the country. We’re also intrigued by Royston Drenthe’s latest post-football career move, Steven Gerrard’s intense in-flight behaviour and some frankly startling revelations from Marcus’ time as a particularly niche door-to-door salesman. On The Continent: Barcelona's Antoine Griezmann conundrum and the sad passing of Lorenzo Sanz

Despite all football in Europe now grinding to a halt, there’s plenty to discuss on today’s episode of On The Continent, with Luke Moore and Andy Brassell! We begin with a curious story surrounding Barcelona’s recent transfer history as it’s being reported in Spain that the club may be prepared to part ways with Antoine Griezmann. Luke and Andy discuss their mismanaged transfer strategy in the last few years as well as their recent financial issues. We then take time to touch on the sad passing of former Real Madrid president Lorenzo Sanz and his storied career, as well as reflecting on the anniversary of the death of the great Johan Cruyff. And, before we go, there’s also time for an assessment of the coaching seasons of André Villas-Boas and Simone Inzaghi at Marseille and Lazio respectively. Fancy getting in touch? Jules & Andy: How players are coping in isolation, with Arsenal physio Gary Lewin

It’s a slightly different episode of Jules & Andy today as, with Jules currently unwell, Andy Brassell is joined by presenter and pundit Kate Mason! After Kate tells us what it was like to present the news last night whilst introducing the Prime Minister’s address, we wonder how footballers themselves are dealing with these unprecedented times. To help shed some light on this, we speak to former Arsenal and England physio Gary Lewin. He discusses the mental challenges facing players who live almost entirely regimented lives, and how even big Premier League clubs will struggle to find the resources needed to adequately train their players. We then discuss what initiatives clubs are running in their local communities to help those affected by the crisis, as well as getting to some correspondence – which features a few ideas on how smaller clubs might be supported in the future. The Ramble: The Torquay River Mystery

We’re back once again to find that football still seems to be a rich vein of absurdity even when there isn’t actually any football, and face up to the idea that our show might actually be better when there isn’t any. Admittedly this has been helped by some classic and very welcome outside-the-box-thinking from Ian Holloway, John Hartson’s “elaborate golf hole” idea and Torquay United discovering that they have a hell of an athlete among their ranks. We also found time to talk George Lazenby, around the house holiday clothes and the contents of Pete’s cupboards, while there’s seismic change afoot as for the very first time, we open the doors to Pete’s Film Club. We also discuss how those working in the game are going to struggle in the coming months, as well as trying to assess the potentially devastating impact on the Football League. The Ramble: As football shuts down, we look at how the remainder of the season may play out…

Though in the early days we were no strangers to recording in our homes none of us realistically thought we’d ever be doing it again. Trying times have made it necessary so this is what we’re doing to keep bringing you Football Ramble Daily. From a set of improvised home studios we look at the ways in which the remaining unplayed football might be resolved, or indeed unresolved, while hearing the thoughts of you, our beloved listeners. Kenny Dalglish and Scott Brown have some thoughts too. For a time without football there’s a surprising amount to talk about and we manage to take in our around-the-house sartorial choices, the bleep test and plagiarism related beef. The Preview Show: Chaos in the Champions League, cracks appear at Spurs, Villa need to wake up

Oof. Atletico Madrid picked a good time to remind us all of what they can do. A truly epic night of football at Anfield ended with a bewildered Liverpool going out of the competition. Will this setback stop them winning the league? No. No it won’t. Spurs had their own struggles and with Ole’s Man United coming to town at the weekend things could be about to get worse? Yes. Yes they could. As well as all this there’s controversy in the email section, balanced out by the best fanfic we’ve seen yet. Jules & Andy: Welcome Old Trafford changes, Tanguy Ndombele's struggles continue, and another impressive Bruno Fernandes performance

Your favourite double act are back on Football Ramble Daily, here to distract you from talk of Coronavirus and cancelled football; it’s Jules & Andy! We begin today’s episode with the news that Manchester United have frozen their season ticket prices for the ninth season in a row. They have also announced an enlarged singing section within the ground and aim to move towards safe standing sections in the near future; we discuss how important these could be to improve an already-dwindling atmosphere that mirrors much of the Premier League. We then compare two recent continental signings and their vastly different impacts on the Premier League thus far, as Bruno Fernandes is already a fantastic addition to United, while Tanguy Ndombele faced further criticism from José Mourinho as he struggled in an inexperienced Spurs midfield. There’s even time for some correspondence, as we discuss the fallout around Charlton’s Jonathan Leko and what he felt was a lack of support from Kick It Out. The Ramble: Manchester is red, Chelsea give Everton a hiding, and Sheffield United dream of Europe

Maybe Ole Gunnar Solskjaer IS the Messiah after all His winger-cum-striker filled Man United team have found some consistency and a convincing win over Man City could just… help Liverpool win the title a bit sooner. Ah, well. Chelsea also had a lovely time as they thrashed Everton, with Roy Keane unnervingly effusive, while Newcastle continued their incredible season with a win over 10-man Southampton. We also had time to discuss the mystery of the missing points, hear the first and hopefully last entry into the Football Ramble Daily slash fiction canon and enjoy a guest appearance from Mitch Hedberg. The Preview Show: Eric Dier takes centre stage, Liverpool lose again, and Steve Bruce goes from strength to strength

An action packed round of FA Cup fixtures gave us drama at Spurs, Chelsea exposing Jurgen Klopp as yet another bald fraud and a huge upset as Arsenal beat Portsmouth. Newcastle made it through too! They never do that! And on top of their win we also got to see 59 year-old Chris Waddle’s cool new hair. Away from the pitch, Pete promises to release some music aimed at kids while also making a niche request for some fanfic; we learn of Delia Smith making Daniel Farke feel at home with the personal touch; and try as best we can to figure out where the midlands is. On The Continent: Barcelona's uncharted territory, the impact of the Coronavirus in Italy, and German ultra culture

Greetings, one and all – welcome to a brand new episode of On The Continent! Andy Brassell’s in the chair alongside Nicky Bandini and Miguel Delaney to discuss another week of continental capers. We begin with a truly underwhelming El Clásico, as Barcelona’s struggles continue. We discuss the difficulties Quique Setién is facing as the first ideology-driven manager the Catalans have had in a long while, and wonder whether the era of Lionel Messi is nearing an end. We then swing over to Italy where, as well as trying to make sense of the widespread disruption thanks to the Coronavirus, we discuss Lazio lead at the top of Serie A, their first for ten years! There’s also time for a discussion about German ultra culture, after protests against Dietmar Hopp continue, and Daniel Sturridge’s worldwide ban from football. Fancy getting in touch? Ramble Meets... Carsten Cramer

On today’s Ramble Meets… we’re joined by a man at the forefront of one Europe’s elite clubs: Borussia Dortmund’s Director of Sales and Marketing, Carsten Cramer. Andy meets Carsten in Dortmund to discuss the club’s journey up to this point and their plans for the future. Carsten reveals just how important it is for the club to maintain a heartfelt connection with its fans, as it remains a permanent fixture of a small city fundamentally changed by the industrial revolution and the explosion of European super clubs. In this fascinating conversation, they discuss collaborating with Bayern Munich off the pitch while battling them for supremacy on it, as well as Jürgen Klopp’s legacy, the influence of Jadon Sancho and the magic of the Westfalen Stadium. ***Please take the time to rate and review us on Apple Podcasts or wherever you get your pods. We're back with a brand new episode of Jules & Andy here on Football Ramble Daily, as Liverpool's momentous unbeaten run comes to an end. The Ramble: Liverpool are beaten, Wolves are on the prowl, and Man City win a third straight Carabao Cup

Well! Nigel Pearson and Watford shocked us all by showing that this Liverpool side can be beaten – though in doing so they did shut down some of the little remaining Narrative of the season. All the same, Pete was at the game with a Japanese hotelier he knows and by all accounts a great time was had. Elsewhere, Daniel Farke and Norwich turned the tables and got a surprise win over Leicester, Jose Mourinho bemoaned a lack of fairness and Man City won yet another Carabao Cup. The Blizzard: Manchester City 3-2 QPR, 2012

"It's finished at Sunderland, and Manchester United have done all they can. That Rooney goal was enough for the three points. Manchester City still alive here. Balotelli..." It was only a matter of time. On today's episode of Greatest Games, in association with The Blizzard, we're heading back to the most extraordinary final day of any modern Premier League season. We're joined by sports journalist and broadcaster Flo Lloyd-Hughes who, curiously enough, is a QPR fan. We recount that historic day as City overturned United's eight-point advantage in the last five weeks of the season and won the Premier League title on goal difference for the first time. And this all through the lens of Flo and the QPR fans around her who were swept up in the celebrations and partying alongside their home equivalents, as they were spared relegation by a Jonathan Walters goal for Stoke! Ramble Meets... Dotun Adebayo

Andy goes back to the source for this week's Ramble Meets, hooking up with the great Dotun Adebayo MBE - writer, presenter, publisher and longtime ringmaster of BBC Five Live's World Football Phone-In. It was in the hallowed halls where Mr Brassell cut his broadcasting teeth alongside our guest and the legendary Tim Vickery. They discuss how football helped Dotun integrate into British society when he arrived from Nigeria as a six-year-old, surviving Swedish Sunday league and Dotun's thoughts on the rise of racist behaviour in European grounds. Jules & Andy: Was the Premier League ready for VAR, are officials inadequately prepared, and how does FFP work in practice?

After another shambolic weekend of VAR, there was only one thing we could start with on today’s episode of Jules & Andy. As officials mishandle baffling clear decisions, we discuss the effect these mistakes has on players’ most visceral emotions while on the pitch and the lack of training for match officials. We also speak to former Premier League referee Peter Walton, who wonders whether the Premier League was even ready for VAR this season due to this lack of training and understanding. It’s not all VAR chat, though, as we take another look at FFP in light of UEFA’s decision to ban Manchester City from European competition. We examine what the policy aims to achieve in a wider context, how it works in practice and how clubs can spend their money on vast improvements without breaking any regulations. The Ramble: Chelsea beat Spurs, Shane Long scores an x-rated goal, and Arsenal are profoundly themselves

Olivier Giroud is back with a bang, as his perfect, handsome features reminded Spurs of what could have been after they missed out on signing him in January. Elsewhere, Brendan Rodgers kept an impressive lid on it while Eddie Howe looks like a man wobbling on the edge. On top of all this there’s Brad Pitt, Axl Rose, the return of Matej Vydra (again), more inbox terror and the gift that keeps on giving: Keane vs Carrragher. The Preview Show: Champions League blows for Liverpool and Spurs, Leicester take on Man City, and Chelsea are having a wobble

It's a big week in the ol’ football, as European football resumes and Big Weng steps in to do something about the offside rule – something we’re all frankly a little unsure about. We even saw Liverpool lose, as Atletico took a 1-0 lead into their second leg match at Anfield, insulting the place as they did so. Let’s see how that pans out. That’s not all we saw; we saw Richard Blackwood haunting Spurs; we saw Barcelona cleverly manipulating time itself; we saw a bitten penis. And if even that isn’t enough, Cristiano Ronaldo and Pingu drop in to say hello. On The Continent: Miserly defending in Madrid, teenage kicks at Dortmund, and the fall of José Mourinho

It’s nice to have the Champions League back, isn’t it? Like a nice mug of warm cocoa on a cold midweek night. We give this week’s round of fixtures a thorough going over on today’s episode of On The Continent, which features Andy Brassell, Lars Sivertsen and David Cartlidge! We begin with Atlético Madrid’s hugely impressive win over Liverpool at the Wanda Metropolitano. We discuss the unwavering influence of Saúl Ñíguez on this Atléti side and their unrelenting commitment to miserly defending that infuriates their opposition. Afterwards, we check in with Lars for another episode of Håland Watch™, as the teenage sensation scored both goals in Dortmund’s win over PSG. David also talks us through Thomas Tuchel’s bizarre changes to PSG’s line up, Marco Verrati’s incessant stupidity and Neymar throwing the PSG medical staff under the bus. Jim's delighted to be joined by actor, comedian, writer, rapper, screenwriter and voice of VAR at Selhurst Park, Doc Brown! His team is packed with ninjas, accountants (in this case the same man), a man so good his name replaced the word “volley” in the ‘90s, surprise packages and an overlooked all time great, cleverly gelled together by a figure who commands more respect than any other living being. There was also time to discuss the proliferation of bird-related iconography in football, those heartbreaking “what if?” moments that are a definitive part of being a fan and some not-that-surprising revelations about one Pete Donaldson. Jules & Andy: Man City's UEFA appeal, what's next for Pep Guardiola, and combatting further racism across the continent

We begin today’s episode of Jules & Andy with an in-depth look at the current state of affairs at Manchester City, as sports lawyer Daniel Geey joins us to explain the current situation after UEFA's ruling and what the immediate next steps will be. We then discuss whether it would be advantageous for City to seek an expedited appeal and try have this matter sorted before the end of the season, as well as assessing the futures of Pep Guardiola, their current crop of players and the wider City project. Then, in light of various shocking instances across football this weekend, we take a look at the latest attempts to combat racism suffered by players whilst on the pitch. Andy reveals how some have misjudged Porto’s players’ - and manager Sérgio Conceição’s - handling of Moussa Marega’s attempt boycott of their match against Vitoria Guimaraes, while we also discuss different ways fans and staff tackled the problem at Germany’s SC Preußen Münster and Atherstone Town respectively. Massive news from the rulings department of football as Man City face a potential two year ban from the Champions League. It’s potentially seismic stuff, and we are as measured and mature about the whole thing as you might expect. We also make time to discuss Joelinton’s woes in front of goal, and how they might be helped if he actually spent more time in front of goal, Sean Dyche motivating his players by showing them the opposition accurately describing their tactics and we’ve even got time to take a trip to Daniel Farke’s tuck shop. The Blizzard: Spain 1-5 Netherlands, 2014

We’re heading back to the 2014 World Cup in Brazil for today’s episode of Greatest Games, in association with The Blizzard. The Guardian’s Jonathan Liew joins us to discuss the Netherlands’ 5-1 dismantling of Spain, as “Louis Van Gaal created something he loved - and then destroyed it.” Spain arrived at this tournament with the same formula that saw them win the preceding three as the likes of Xavi, Sergio Busquets and Andrés Iniesta looked to dominate possession. They took the lead and controlled the early exchanges in El Salvador but, with Louis van Gaal switching to a back three for this game, his Netherlands side took advantage of Spain's lethargic midfield. We discuss a fantastic game that featured scintillating goals from Robin Van Persie and Arjen Robben, and saw the end of Spain’s possession-dominating era. The Preview Show: Romance in the air as Leicester visit Wolves, a mid-table clash at The Emirates, and a haircut for Jose Mourinho

Pete’s back, via the floor of Topman, and he brings with him some revelations about emails. The long and the short of it is that Jim is an idiot. You already knew that though, so let’s crack on with the other features of the show; Arsenal vs Newcastle! These teams are level on points and between them have drawn seven of their last eight. Is this just a bad season? Marcus Speller thinks otherwise and has stats from The Financial Sport to back up this theory. On The Continent: Addressing European football's imbalance, Iker Casillas' presidential bid, and Jurgen Klinsmann slips off into the night

We welcome another esteemed debutant to today's episode of On The Continent, as Luke Moore and Andy Brassell are joined by The Independent’s Miguel Delaney! In light of Miguel’s recent piece, ‘How football became broken beyond repair’, we discuss the current imbalances within European football. As the top clubs earn huge swathes of money from Champions League performances and their international reach, competitiveness is being eroded across the vast majority of Europe’s leagues – we assess how this damage has been done and what can be done to remedy it. We also mourn the end of Jurgen Klinsmann’s totemic 10-week stint in charge of Hertha Berlin, as he moves upstairs, and wonder what he can provide in his new ambassadorial role. There’s also chat on Iker Casillas’ bid for the Spanish FA presidency and some cracking games of the week! ***Please take the time to rate and review us on Apple Podcasts or wherever you get your pods. Ramble Meets... Clyde Best

We welcome a footballing icon to today’s episode of Ramble Meets… as Andy is joined by one of England's first black footballers, former West Ham striker Clyde Best! After choosing football over cricket in his native Bermuda, and becoming involved in the national side when he was just fifteen, Clyde flew across to London for a trial with West Ham United and went on to score 58 goals over seven seasons. Clyde sits with Andy to discuss the horrific racist abuse from the terraces and how teammates like Bobby Moore and Harry Redknapp helped him through it. Clyde also talks about some of his favourite moments from playing in England, gives some advice to the current generation of black footballers and reminisces about managing the Bermudan national team. This episode was recorded on 5th December 2019. Jules & Andy: Watching our teams as fans, Sheffield United’s European dream, and managerial legacies

We’re back with another episode of Jules & Andy on Football Ramble Daily! Jules managed to catch this weekend’s Brighton game as a fan, so there’s chat about the emotional strains of watching your team from the stands rather than in a work capacity. There’s also talk about Sheffield United’s march towards Europe and how brilliant that would be considering their comparatively modest status, despite some saying it would be bad for the club. And as Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds potentially start their alarmingly predictable stutter, we discuss managerial legacies and why some coaches can’t seem to shake them off. The Ramble: Ancelotti’s Everton march on, Watford slip up, and Leeds wobble

It may have taken 34 Premier League games - and Jordan Pickford having one of his moments - but CHRISTIAN BENTEKE IS BACK! That’s what we’ve come to during this whole winter break thing. It will be worth it when Dominic Calvert-Lewin leads England to glory at Euro 2020. Of course, football exists outside the Premier League. Sammy Ameobi's making Leeds think they too may continue to exist outside the Premier League next season, as Nottingham Forest grabbed the win. On top of all that, Louis Armstrong drops in, Nigel Pearson’s globe reveals a dark past and listener Damian Cunningham signs off on his mad reign of terror. The Preview Show: FA Cup replays happened, the winter break has come, and a chopper was seen

We’re back, with our most immature show of the season! If a Newcastle fan fires up the willycopter on live TV then what other choice do we have? Though the winter break is here we’ve still had a surprisingly fun week, with the aforementioned chopper-chopper, Wayne Rooney rolling back the years in the FA Cup and Luke’s pilgrimage to Anfield’s Roy Hodgson statue. And we still have time to hear from our worst listener! Listen please.
