Is that how we can sum up this weekend's win over the visiting New York Red Bulls? There's more to it, though. So much more. Let's have a chat. On today's show, hosts Josh Guesman and Kevin Baxter get you through an eventful Sunday afternoon with just under 7,000 of our closest friends. We're discussing the Galaxy's win, Chicharito's hat trick, and how good it felt to be back in a stadium with fans making noise. But what can we take away from a team that hasn't always been stellar but has found a way to score goals and win games? Are the Galaxy getting lucky, or is this hard work paying off? And just how much Kool-Aid are you drinking (hint: all of it). Josh and Kevin will talk about the players who had good games and why the MLS Player of the Week probably wasn't the guy that got named. And how a couple of guys that we thought would be warming the bench are probably going to start a lot of games. The guys will also predict the future compared to the last two games they watched and why the Galaxy are about to run into two very good tests. Can they get even more points from their next two opponents? Finally, Josh and Kevin are updating you on Galaxy news, telling you where Kevin Cabral is and giving you the details on why the Galaxy aren't exactly sure when they're leaving for the match against Seattle. It's a packed show, and we're glad you could join us. Now get ready for another busy Galaxy week with another busy CoG show schedule!

The LA Galaxy signed a 21-year-old as their youngest Designated Player in club history. But when we first were looking at Kevin Cabral, we had assumed the Galaxy were going to get him under a different Mechanism. On today's show, hosts Josh Guesman and Sophie Nicolaou discuss why that all changed and what that means for a team that is now out of Designated Player slots. And does this really mean the end of Cristian Pavon? Let's face it; Major League Soccer does a horrible job of explaining all the rules to everyone. Josh will do his best to give you an advanced crash-course in why Cabral isn't going to be signed under the U-22 Initiative and why the Galaxy are still calling that a win. And how much are they paying him? If the reports are accurate, Cabral just got his first big payday. But why is Samuel Grandsir also another important signing to the success of Cabral? And why are the Galaxy so sure on a 21-year-old that has a lot of upside but not a lot of experience? During the show, Josh and Sophie will make sure they get their thoughts in on the Galaxy's preseason draw with the Colorado Rapids and tell you why Saturday's game against Real Salt Lake could be a crucial match. But they're also going to highlight some Galaxy II signings that have some first-team impact, get you through another retro fashion drop and make sure you're following along with the Galaxy's new supplemental development deal. Maybe your kids will be at Dignity Health Sports Park to be assessed by the Galaxy Academy coaches. We've got a jam-packed show brimming with the details you need to explain what the Galaxy did with Cabral. Go forth and teach the masses!

So, how many "starters" should you expect to see, and how many players will the Galaxy get ready for the season-opener? On today's show, hosts Josh Guesman and Kevin Baxter want to give you the latest in Galaxy news and get you prepped for the Galaxy's final busy week before the 2021 season kicks off. The guys will start with the loss to Sporting KC in this weekend's preseason game. Why are fans and reporters beginning to get frustrated? It shouldn't be the losses. Those don't matter right now. But the lack of available starters is starting to be a massive problem to Greg Vanney and the club, and it likely means guys you aren't expecting to start in Miami will be starting in Miami. We'll go over what we learned and why the team that starts in Florida will probably look different than the team that plays the rest of the season. Plus, if you want rumors, we're going to explain the U-22 initiative once again and why the Galaxy will probably be using that to sign Kevin Cabral. Is it 100-percent done? You'll have to listen to find out! And why does this mean the Galaxy are still shopping for a DP? Again, it's all explained! And with IFAB and US Soccer getting in on the action, Major League Soccer will use concussion subs in 2021. It's a simple rule that has some wacky possibilities. Could you see a team using nine subs in a game? We'll tell you how that could happen -- even if it's not very likely. Do you like the rule? Will teams use it or abuse it? We've got a packed show covering all the major news surrounding the Galaxy as they get ready for an essential season under Vanney. Is this year one of his three-year plans? He doesn't think so!

This looks to be our best chance actually to see a starting lineup. The internationals are back, Victor Vazquez and Samuel Grandsir should be arriving, and soon, we'll get to know the Galaxy that will start the season against Inter Miami! On today's show, we have a first. We get to debut a new song coming out in April that hits all the right notes. Even for these white boys, this is an excellent track that you should be playing on your way to the game, as you're tailgating and certainly after a win. We'll debut Arquitekto Verbal's "Riot at the Tailgate" off his 1996 album for you on our show! But hosts Josh Guesman and Eric Vieira aren't just your wacky FM DJs. No, they're updating you on all the Galaxy news you missed this week. Josh and Eric will talk about the loss to New England and why Greg Vanney doesn't seem worried. Plus, did any of the younger players impress in their midweek run-out? And why did the second half go so sideways? Plus, the guys want to talk about the ticket event that took place today as Season Ticket Member's waiting in their virtual queues to secure tickets to the Galaxy's home-opener on April 25th. Then there's some discussion of Jonathan dos Santos and Efrain Alvarez and why they'll be joining Sebastian Lletget, Julian Araujo, Vazquez, and Grandsir in Tucson. What's so special about Arizona right now? Finally, the guys tell you why Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez got the biggest payout of any MLS player from the players' union and why the Galaxy hold a special place on TV for Major League Soccer this year (thank Athletic). We've got a packed musical episode, and we can't wait to get it started. Thanks for joining us!

But more than that, the 34 games the LA Galaxy will be playing in 2021 are going to be some of their most challenging ever! Are you ready for a show that clues you into the slog the Galaxy have ahead? Hosts Josh Guesman and Eric Vieira have a busy rundown for you. The guys will start with a super-secret scrimmage and end with an impromptu dramatic intro! And in between, they'll have tons of Galaxy information so that you can impress your friends! First, the guys will talk about why the Galaxy, and some of the teams they've been playing, are having some secret meetings. And what can we make of a draw with LAFC that was super tight-lipped until Chicharito spilled the beans? Then it's off to international duty, where we'll give you game updates on Julian Araujo and Sebastian Lletget and get you prepped for Jonathan dos Santos and Efrain Alvarez's 2021 debut's for Mexico. The bottom line with all of the players is that they're getting competitive matches, and that's a good thing for the Galaxy. But the most considerable section of this show is dedicated to looking at the 2021 schedule and taking a different approach than most. We'll look at what part of the schedule ar most challenging based on days-between-games and talk about body clocks and short-rest games. We don't have to spell it out for you. You'll quickly see why these 34 games are some of the toughest for the Galaxy. Finally, Josh and Eric give you updates on Cristian Pavon and talk about two rumors from Europe that have some legs but don't necessarily mean anything is imminent.

COG STUDIOS, Calif. -- The LA Galaxy are getting ready for their preseason to ramp up. They've got a handful of games lined up, and this Saturday, we'll finally get a good look at what they might look like when Spectrum SportsNet broadcasts their match against the New England Revolution. On today's show, hosts Josh Guesman and Kevin Baxter want to get you ready for this week of training and what hurdles the Galaxy still have to clear. The guys will start by attempting to learn something from the two 60-minute scrimmages the club held against USL side San Diego Loyal. But with a starting lineup devoid of, well, starters, there is probably a reasoning Greg Vanney kept most of the big names off the field. But what does it say that Mauricio Cuevas and Auggie Williams keep making an impact on the first team with the minutes they're getting? Josh and Kevin will also talk about the four players away on International Duty and what that means for the Galaxy as they already face some severe shortages on the roster. But this week is the week to see Sebastian Lletget, Jonathan dos Santos, and Efrain Alvarez play for the senior national teams, and you might even get Julian Araujo in one of the biggest matches of his young career. With the roster showing many holes in the preseason scrimmage, what are the Galaxy doing about it? And how optimistic are Josh and Kevin when it comes to the job the Galaxy have done? Where are the upgrades to the team from last year? There's some roster judgment going on, and the Galaxy aren't getting a passing grade -- not yet, anyway. Finally, the guys discuss how a 90-mile circle will make your preseason game watching a lot more difficult thanks to some stupid MLS rules, and how a rumor out of France has the Galaxy dipping their toes into the under-22 rule. Is this the change that could bring some exciting development money into the league? Well lucky for you, this show is that show, and we're giving a heaping scoop of opinion, news, and Galaxy fun! Let's get to it! Hosts Josh Guesman and Eric Vieira cover the club from every angle. And that includes the ongoing "authentic" drama that seems to have left the Galaxy speechless. The guys will start with some Liga G talk and then quickly progress into the latest twist on what the kits on the field will look when the Galaxy finally take the field in 2021. What happened to the MLS patch? And why should it have been missing all along? Josh and Eric then focus in on the signing of Victor Vazquez and why Greg Vanney thinks the world of him. And that might mean that he'll be getting a lot more minutes than we first thought. Plus, with his pedigree, can Vazquez become the link to championships the Galaxy need? The guys will also talk about Vanney's media call and how he touched on almost every subject fans want to know. Are more players incoming? And why is that defensive midfielder so crucial to what the Galaxy want to do? Plus, before the lengthy conversation about Cristian Pavon, Josh and Eric verify the priority season ticket holders will be given and talk about how the Galaxy have magically made Season Ticket Agreements go away -- conveniently when it's best for them. Will you be able to get into the stadium? Could the Galaxy get into the Orange tier before the home opener at the end of April? Sure, we'll talk about a game nobody saw! On today's show, hosts Josh Guesman and Kevin Baxter discuss the Galaxy's quiet last few days and why things might be about to heat up again! First, the guys talk about Auggie Williams and his goal against the Columbus Crew in a game that wasn't a game, wasn't real, and probably is just a figment of everyone's imagination. But Williams is trying to earn a spot on the senior team, and scoring in a glorified scrimmage is an excellent way to get Greg Vanney's attention. What could separate Williams from the rest of the guys trying to make this team? Next, Josh updates listeners on a rumor involving Victor Vázquez and why you can't compare him to Sebastian Giovinco. Are the Galaxy going to grab the 34-year-old? And what does that mean for the rest of the starting lineup? Especially when we tell you the Galaxy might be taking a significant step back from Cristian Pavon? Kevin will dive into the void of Designated Player signings and why Samuel Grandsir may be a product of teams who are afraid to spend money in another season affected by Covid. Could the Galaxy keep an open DP slot well into summer? And could returning fans to Dignity Health Sports Park means teams are ready to spend in 2021 once there's a path towards a "normal" season? We've got a busy show for you tonight with some good discussion on things that are causing the Galaxy problems early in the preseason!
In this episode of the Designated Players Podcast, the guys take a deep dive, and no we have not become an ocean podcast, if that's even a thing. We are taking a more detailed look into each team in MLS for the upcoming season, with a breakdown of nine teams per episode. The teams for round 1 are; NYCFC, LA Galaxy, Chicago Fire, Philadelphia Union, Minnesota United, FC Dallas, RBNY, LAFC, and finally Toronto FC. For each team in the episode, and yes even for FC Dallas even if one host refuse...

COG STUDIOS, Calif. -- The LA Galaxy filled another spot in the midfield with the signing of Samuel Grandsir. But his stats don't exactly paint a picture of perfection. We'll discuss where he'll play, why he's a starter, and what surprise we found with his announcement. Hosts Josh Guesman and Sophie Nicolaou get you caught up on a hectic week of Galaxy news, and it's all important stuff! Don't miss it! First, Josh and Sophie will discuss the announcement of the first two games of the Galaxy season and why Major League Soccer already tipped their hand when they had two east coast opponents for the club. Can MLS and the Galaxy afford to treat this like any other season? Then, your hosts will put actual numbers to the planned re-opening of Dignity Health Sports Park and tell you why it doesn't seem very likely that everyone who wants to be in the stands will be in the stands come April 25 when the New York Red Bulls come to town. Do you feel safe going back to the stadium? But the big news of the day is Frenchman Grandsir getting the "officially signed" tag from the Galaxy. And while we do our best to stay on top of all the developments, his contract surprised us when the Galaxy added a fourth year as a club option. What are the Galaxy risking? And why might it be a massive move? Finally, Josh and Sophie talk about Julain Araujo and Efrain Alvarez's development through the eyes of their national teams. And why Araujo may be going to the Olympics while Araujo gets a senior team call-up. We've got an absolutely packed show! We've got lights! We've got cameras, and we've got some action! Will the official charges against him finally get the club to back off in their pursuit? Josh Guesman and Kevin Baxter are back for another Monday night show where they discuss the Galaxy's latest news, schedules, and more. The guys will start by discussing the latest update from the Galaxy on the Community Kit and how the club is planning on fixing the issues that have popped up since the very successful launch. Are they getting the fixes right? Or could they do more? Then they'll talk about Jonathan Klinsmann's concussion and why he took a bit of a hit in terms of him competing for the number one goalkeeping spot and why that may have been Jonathan Bond's spot all along anyway. And will the Galaxy get success from a contingent of "Internationals?" And with French newspapers talking about Samuel Grandsir's deal with the Galaxy, we'll tell you what we know about the three-year agreement and what roster designations he'll fall into. Are the Galaxy gambling on Grandsir? And are they leveraging the future on an unproven TAM player? Josh and Kevin will then transition into the Galaxy's weekly schedule and what an "offsite" training could be. Plus, the guys will discuss the preseason broadcast schedule and why there's a super-secret closed-door game that will see the reigning MLS Cup Champions come to town. But before the Galaxy can have fans in the stadium -- a topic of discussion -- they'll also need to have a schedule. And with the Canadian teams finding places to play within the United States' borders, MLS may be getting closer to announcing where the teams will play their 34 games this season. And it's not expected to be totally regionalized. Finally, there's more Pavon talk as he's formally charged with Sexual Assault and rape, and his lawyers start the spin machine. Is Pavon trying to get this cleared and done quickly? And should the Galaxy be paying attention? We've got a big show for you and we're thrilled that you've decided to join us today!

We'll discuss what the defender can bring to the club and why Giancarlo Gonzalez might have some issues. Josh will start with his weekly kit update and tell you why an authentic kit should come with all the things the players wear. That includes the sponsor logo and an MLS patch. We'll let you know what the Galaxy are expected to do to fix the problems they've been having with patches and numbers! Then the guys breakdown the contract length of Derrick Williams and talk about how his signing is starting to indicate a trend for Dennis te Kloese and perhaps how Greg Vanney wants to run things. A team that relied so much on International players in 2019 and 2020 suddenly is doing the exact opposite. And did you want to know the Galaxy's preseason schedule? What if we told you it involved Landon Donovan, Bruce Arena, and a trip to Tucson, Arizona? We've got the news details for you that might have you trucking for the southwests deserts. But if you want to know who the Galaxy will face when the season opens up, then you've got some waiting to do. But that might include fans, so get those community kits ready! Or is he just a French Giovani dos Santos? We'll discuss!

COG STUDIOS, Calif. -- The LA Galaxy are back in preseason camp for the first time in 2021. And while the workouts may be voluntary, the club isn't treating it that way. On today's show, your hosts (Josh Guesman and Kevin Baxter) take you through the first day of camp, through an exciting media conference call, and through a Galaxy signing that is on the cusp of being announced. The guys will start by talking about the first day of preseason training and why the word "voluntary" needs to come with quotation marks. How did the Galaxy fair in their first chance to run around and kick each other? And what did Greg Vanney see in his team for their first training session? Plus, the Galaxy want to add players. We'll tell you how many and why that matches-up with an earlier report we told you about. And the level of those players is higher than you think. We'll let Vanney tell you why he's got to make some TAM signings that will be good for the next five or more years. There's also some discussion on Jonathan dos Santos and his focus on his contract year and why he's shown some real dedication in the offseason. He even answered some questions in English, another sign he's focused on 2021. We'll explain. Finally, we bring you some CoG Breaking News as the Galaxy get ready to sign a 28-year-old defender who was born in Germany but plays his international soccer with Ireland. And they did it. And that should be celebrated enthusiastically and without qualifications. They had the nearly perfect jersey launch with the "Community Kit." And we're going to talk about all the good and just a little bit of bad. On today's show, hosts Josh Guesman and Sophie Nicolaou will break down the incredible insanity surrounding the Galaxy's most successful kit launch ever while also throwing in some other minor news-nuggets about your favorite team. Josh and Sophie will start with some of their general feelings about the optimism that is building up about actually getting back in the stadium for the 2021 season, while also doing their best to realize most of that is misplaced. Then they'll talk about the Galaxy players that will be embarking on their Olympic qualifying dreams as CONCACAF gets in on the U-23-style tournament for a chance at going to Japan this summer -- if there are Olympics this summer. Will Efrain Alvarez find himself in a tug-of-war between the United States and Mexico? Will that even matter? And why Julian Araujo seems like the best bet to get the job done for the United States. Plus, that conversation will morph into looking at some of the big-name players and why they'll be feeling the pressure in 2021! But the central portion of the show revolves around the events and happening of Wednesday's kit launch. There are some incredibly nerdy details that Josh focuses on, and Sophie asks when the Galaxy are going to sell those socks! See, the kit probably means different things to different people, but the launch, the videos, and the design itself took our mind off of a global pandemic for a couple of minutes, and that's a well-needed mental break. We've got a fun show with some good talking points and two hosts who were probably tipsy from all the water they drank! So come and join us! We're ready for you!

COG STUDIOS, Calif. -- The sidelines of the LA Galaxy games are going to look different this year. And while you can't blame that all on the pandemic, the real change will come when Megan Reza isn't standing on the sidelines anymore. On today's show, hosts Josh Guesman and Kevin Baxter will cover most of the Galaxy news that leads up to the preseason camp officially starting. But they'll also get a chance to hear from Reza as she reminisces about what it meant to be on the sidelines for your television coverage and what things she'll take with her as she heads off in a new direction. Josh and Kevin will start by clarifying the ever-confusing new rule that revolves around players under the age of 22. That usually leads to a conversation about MLS and the LA Galaxy and how their opaqueness doesn't help things when explaining the complexities of the league. From there, the guys will discuss the new sleeve sponsorship with Honey and why the Galaxy will get two more seasons of some very great payouts. But come 2022, the gravy train might stop! Plus, Julian Araujo graced the front page of the LA Times today, and that's just the beginning for one of the Galaxy's most generous of players. Can Araujo match his freshman performance with an improvement in his sophomore season? Or will the pressure get to him? Finally, the guys give you an update on Cristian Pavon's legal issues in Argentina and why his lawyers are pressing back on many of the statements that the press has circulated. So naturally, we're going to talk all things Cristian Pavon! Because one, it was a slow news week, and two, there is a ton of information on the Argentine. Hosts Josh Guesman and Eric Vieira are going to talk about Pavon's surgery, his legal troubles, and why his dad just declared war on Boca Juniors. And while our opinions on Cristian Pavon haven't changed much since the sexual assault allegations surfaced, we're not here to tell you what we think on the subject. All we can do is describe what the Galaxy are thinking and why it seems like only a "matter of time" until he's permanently a Galaxy player. Gamechangers are far from plentiful on this Galaxy roster, but faith in Greg Vanney's ability to put together a competitive squad seems to be unwavering at the moment. But after Walter Pavon - Cristian's dad - spilled the beans on his son's wishes, do the Galaxy have enough leverage to wait for Boca Juniors to cave? Could the Galaxy approach this deal in nine months from a much stronger position and for no money? But before we even touch on Pavon's lawyers, the prosecutor's office, or whether or not he can travel outside the country, we're going to talk about the now-famous Tech Green Throwback kit. We've got our first look at the authentic kit and debate what color shorts the club will wear with possibly the best two kits in MLS. It's undoubtedly not a bare white kit! Hosts Josh Guesman and Kevin Baxter discuss all your latest Galaxy news and pay particular focus to some MLS updates and the roster's continuing build-out. The guys will talk about the shift in the league's starting date and why that necessitates a push in the league transfer window. Plus, was MLS trying to help out teams that put some of their players on short-term loans? You better believe it! Plus, how well do you know the league's newest acquisition mechanism: the under 22 rule? Josh will explain the details while Kevin tries to tell you why it's a bad thing. But is this the next big thing in MLS? And are there some advantages to it? Could the Galaxy take advantage? Josh and Kevin continue with a discussion about Oniel Fisher (there's a good mispronunciation of his name in there) and why Carlos Harvey may not be the last acquisition of the week. Kevin will tell you about his conversations with Javier Hernandez (Chicharito), Greg Vanney, Jonathan dos Santos, and Dennis te Kloese and why Vanney thinks JDS could be the attacker the Galaxy need. Plus, that will lead us into rumors of a defensive midfielder, a slide for Sebastian Lletget, and an update on Cristian Pavon's status. Should the Galaxy even be chasing Pavon? Are the red flags too much to handle? And do the Galaxy, and Pavon get the benefit of the doubt until they don't? We've got a busy show for you, and we can't wait to share it. And trust us, there are some hard feelings! The players agreed to extend the CBA through the 2027 season, but this contract still has one big loophole, and it's one that the owners have already exploited multiple times. Well, the good news is that they plan on bringing it back this season. The bad news is that it's not much of an "open" cup. We'll tell you why there are limited teams, and so far, no criteria for how they're going to be selected. But it's unlikely the Galaxy will even be in it. So let's not get ahead of ourselves. And did you see a leaked away kit? Did it look like the 1997 home kit? We'll talk about the details and why it seems like you haven't been shown the authentic version of it yet. But it's definitely going to sell out, so start ordering it right now. Seriously. Don't wait. Finally, Josh and Kevin do a bit of a roundup at the end that talks about Cristian Pavon, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, and Husein Balic. It's a mix of current and past players that should have the Galaxy focusing on getting some signings across the line... quickly.

It involves Dennis te Kloese, the LA Galaxy, Boca Juniors, and a report that may mean the Galaxy got Cristian Pavon without a loan fee. Hosts Josh Guesman and Eric Vieira join on a day that was supposed to be filled with drama. Instead, Major League Soccer extended the lockout deadline by 24-hours. So instead of counting down the minutes until MLS canceled the CBA and locked out the players, we're giving you a news dump worthy of a busy week of Galaxy announcements. We'll discuss some changes in the Galaxy's front office, and we talk about a goodbye from David Bingham. Can you put Bingham's time with the Galaxy into perspective? And do the stats change your opinion of the club's former goalkeeper? Plus, will the loan deal for Diedie Traore end up working out in his favor? Or will the club put him on loan and never see him come back to the club? There's some nuance in this loan, so give it a chance! Josh and Eric will also discuss the Galaxy's rock star coaching staff and why the weakest link will be one of the Galaxy's greatest all-time players. Does getting the band back together do anything wrong for the club? Or will it still take winning to get this team pointed in the right direction? The guys will push through the middle of the show with some disappointing news from Adidas about a possible third kit, and we'll make sure we dive into all the details on why General Manager Dennis te Kloese might be up for an award. Did he pull one over on Boca Juniors? God, let it be true for the laughs! To close out the show, the guys talk rumors -- Sergio Aguero and Husein Balic -- and give you the latest on MLS and MLSPA. Surely the CBA talks will change by the time you listen to this show, but we talked about them anyways! We've got a big show for a big Thursday night. Thanks for listening to us! New LA Galaxy Goalkeeper Jonathan Bond joins the podcast for his exclusive first interview as a member of the club. So we've got that going for us, plus a lot of MLS news! On today's show, hosts Josh Guesman and Larry Morgan get you through the quiet times surrounding the Galaxy, talk moving Jonathan dos Santos and why Perry Kitchen is no longer an option for the LA. Josh and Larry will start with everything, including the Kitchen sink. Perry Kitchen has moved on from the Galaxy and has landed with the defending MLS Cup champs. Plus, he'll get to be reunited with his former coach and a former college teammate. Then the guys talk about Jonathan dos Santos and why you're going to be hearing and seeing many rumors surrounding the Mexican international. Should the Galaxy consider moving the midfielder? And why do those things become more challenging as his contract counts down? Would you make a move to open another Designated Player spot? Josh is then joined by new Galaxy goalkeeper Jonathan Bond. From his hotel room in Los Angeles, Bond discusses the move from the English Premier League and why he sees the Galaxy spot as a top destination in the world. Plus, he'll discuss his goalkeeping style and why his mom was a significant reason for him coming to the United States to play. Finally, Josh and Larry close out the show with some dead rumors and an interesting MLS predicament as the CBA is set to expire as we record the show. What might happen? And will the season start on time? We've got a packed show full of Galaxy discussion and opinions. Disagree with us and keep this offseason interesting!

On today's show, hosts Josh Guesman and Kevin Baxter will dive into the latest in Galaxy news and tell you why some things are worth paying attention to -- injured ankles, contracts, and MLS start dates -- and some things you should just dismiss! Josh and Kevin will start with some interesting new information surrounding the contract of Jonathan Bond and how the 27-year-old should be on his way to the states this week and is coming to be the Galaxy's number one goalkeeper. The guys will transition into updates surrounding Sebastian Lletget and Julian Araujo and dive into the MLS announcement that the season will start in April. But is MLS forcing this on the MLSPA? And is a work stoppage going to force everyone to hit pause on an already delayed season? Plus, what exactly does a 34-game season mean? Will teams be able to escape their regional bubbles? Plus, what's happening with Cristian Pavon and his negotiation to get out of Boca Juniors? And why could surgery be a sign that Pavon is pulling out all the stops? Or did the Galaxy miss some signs his ankle was messed up? Finally, the guys preach patience on the Sebastian Giovinco rumor, and take a look at Marcos Rojo and his linkage with the Galaxy after Manchester United is ready to let him go. Oh, and don't miss some insight into the new Galaxy draft pick, Josh Drack. Maybe college was a way for him to mature? And now that he's ready could the Galaxy use him on the senior team? Josh and Eric will start with all the things they messed up on the previous show and some of the stories about how they got corrected -- hi Jonathan Bond -- and why Josh's haircut is probably the biggest mistake of all of them. Then the guys are diving into a 20th anniversary that you should never forget -- even when MLS likes to. Were you at the Collesium 20 years ago? And do you remember what happened to the Club World Cup in 2001! Thanks for nothing, FIFA! Then to prove all white guys look alike, Josh and Eric will get into the details about the Galaxy's newest SuperDraft picks. Do you have any hope that either of the players will be on the roster come March -- or May? Plus, both from the University of Denver? And one of them seems to be a Galaxy fan! But the real highlight of the Galaxy's roster is the additions of Adam Saldaña, Jalen Neal, and Markus Ferkranus (should be announced on Friday). Why is this such a big deal for the Galaxy as an organization? And why will this mean relatively little for the 2021 season? Finally, the guys are diving into the deteriorating negotiations between MLS and the MLSPA. Did commissioner Don Garber send a letter to the "fans" to get the MLSPA to the bargaining table? Perhaps the Galaxy can reckon back to 2009 when they landed AJ DeLaGarza and Omar Gonzalez. Or maybe they throw it way back to the days of Tom Smart? On today's show hosts, Josh Guesman and Kevin Baxter, discuss all the details around Pavon's many avenues of staying in LA and why the pressure might continue to rise for both Boca Juniors and the Galaxy as the loan expires. And most of that pressure has to do with both sides feeling a financial pinch from the global pandemic. Josh and Kevin will start with more details on Pavon wanting to stay in LA and why there is some pressure on Boca Juniors to get the deal done. Plus, we're discussing the Galaxy's roster moves and why Luca Modric makes a ton of sense for the Galaxy -- but not really. Finally, the guys will talk about the crowded international schedule for 2021 and why building a roster that includes national team players is a dangerous proposition. We've got over 60 minutes of Galaxy-talk headed your way. And it's way too long!

But they held an interesting press conference that was full of "accountability" and then didn't signal any significant changes headed your way. On today's show, hosts Josh Guesman and Eric Vieira discuss many different topics, but it's not exactly going to be rainbows and unicorns. The guys will start with announcing the Galaxy Team Awards and put Cristian Pavon's season into perspective. Later in the show, there's some more transfer talk surrounding Pavon, and it's important to note that there seems to have been a sizeable shift in position from both the Galaxy and Boca Juniors. Does that mean Pavon could be staying with the Galaxy? Josh and Eric will then dive into the postseason press conference that had Galaxy President Chris Klein discuss the many ways that the club got it all wrong. But are there any suggestions on how they're going to fix it? Does the tone seem different than after the failures of the 2017 and 2018 seasons? And have the Galaxy, at any time since Bruce Arena left, kept pace with the rest of the league? We'll admit it! It's a pessimistic view of the Galaxy's future, but what are there reasons to be optimistic when the same things keep happening? The guys will also get you updated on the state of contracts on the Galaxy before bringing you the offseason dates that are just around the corner. The bottom line is that the Galaxy are already having to make decisions about their future, and they don't have a head coach to help with that. We've got a packed show, and we're thrilled that you could join us this season. We're looking forward to keeping you updated in the offseason. Keep us close! Changes are coming for this club! But will they be the right changes?

COG LA GALAXY DISCORD: https://discord.gg/9g8FcfU COG MERCHANDISE (SCARVES, T-SHIRTS, BUTTONS, COASTERS): http://www.cornerofthegalaxy.com/SHOP COG STUDIOS, Calif. -- The 2020 season if over for the LA Galaxy. And the 3-0 loss to the Vancouver Whitecaps put the perfect "bow" on a horrific season. On today's show, hosts Josh Guesman and Kevin Baxter breakdown what happened after the game and why Galaxy players may have tipped their hands on what it was like to play under Guillermo Barros Schelotto. Can the guys connect some dots and add some insight into who was being held accountable and who wasn't? And should Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez be trusted with any say in the club's next coaching choice? This episode will dive into the Galaxy's thoughts on Dominic Kinnear, why he might be the perfect answer for the wayward club, and how David Bingham thinks the Galaxy made themselves good last time. Does it all come down to keeping things simple to make players good? And what seems like a reasonable timeline for the Galaxy to pick their next head coach? Finally, the guys give you some stats on Designated Players, on win percentage, and on a whole bunch of other things that you don't want to hear -- but you need to! We've got over 70 mins of Galaxy-talk heading your way, and we're glad you could join us through the entire 2020 season. We're not going anywhere, but we'd still like to say thank you!

COG LA GALAXY DISCORD: https://discord.gg/9g8FcfU COG MERCHANDISE (SCARVES, T-SHIRTS, BUTTONS, COASTERS): http://www.cornerofthegalaxy.com/SHOP COG STUDIOS, Calif. -- We're going to be honest. We thought this show would let host Josh Guesman ramble on about the LA Galaxy draw with the Seattle Sounders and why they played better than against Real Salt Lake. But instead, about a minute before we went on air, LA Galaxy General Manager Dennis te Kloese said he'd be available for some questions. So we dropped him into the show and talked about all things Galaxy for over 30 mins. So while this show was going to cover so much about what happened on Wednesday night, instead we ended up talking with Dennis about scouting, the timing of the firing of Guillermo Barros Schelotto, analytics, Cristian Pavon's future, and why Dennis is still the best man for the job. Along the way, we'll talk about Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez, why the Galaxy keep having Designated Players that are always injured, and what things Dennis has done to make the Galaxy better. And will Dominic Kinnear be given a fair shot at this head coaching job? Dennis talks about Kinnear and what he has meant for this club. Along the way, Josh will give you some injury updates, talk about Jonathan dos Santos and Sebastian Lletget both being called up to their respective national teams, and why the game against Vancouver will still be a serious affair. The season is almost over, the Galaxy are still playing to keep from being the bottom of the conference, and we've got a GM on the show. Sounds about right for 2020! A big thanks to Dennis te Kloese and the LA Galaxy for coming on the show and talking with us. Enjoy this surprise interview and don't forget to tell your friends and family about our show!

COG LA GALAXY DISCORD: https://discord.gg/9g8FcfU COG MERCHANDISE (SCARVES, T-SHIRTS, BUTTONS, COASTERS): http://www.cornerofthegalaxy.com/SHOP COG STUDIOS, Calif. -- The LA Galaxy got the win under interim head coach Dominic Kinnear on Sunday night. But they'll need two more wins like that, and some help, if they're going to even think about the postseason. On today's show, hosts Josh Guesman and Kevin Baxter discuss the Galaxy's win over Real Salt Lake, what changes Kinnear made, and how Giancarlo "Pipo" Gonzalez turned in his best performance in a Galaxy kit. Josh and Kevin will start the show with their observations about the starting lineup, what it looked like to have Kinnear and Jovan Kirovski on the bench, and why a small tweak ended up with a Man of the Match award to Gonzalez. The guys will also discuss the play of Julian Araujo, David Bingham, Emiliano Insua, Perry Kitchen, Cristian Pavon, and Yony Gonzalez. Did Kinnear find a starting lineup that is more predictable than the rest? And what did Zubak bring that no one else on the field can offer? Next, Kevin will get you through the playoff scenarios and the needed results for the postseason to be a reality for this underachieving club. Can the Galaxy get there? Would they deserve it? But the Galaxy's next opponent is the MLS Cup Champions from last year. Why are the Seattle Sounders looking to bury the Galaxy and end any dreams of the playoffs on Wednesday? Finally, the guys do a quick dive into the Galaxy's possible coaching candidates while ESPN is reporting that Robbie Keane, is in fact, being looked at for the manager's position. Don't worry, we've got a bunch of names for you, and most of those are sure to be wrong! We've got a great show lined up for you as the club comes down to the wire in 2020! Can the Galaxy make the playoffs? Is it still the "hope that kills you?"

COG LA GALAXY DISCORD: https://discord.gg/9g8FcfU COG MERCHANDISE (SCARVES, T-SHIRTS, BUTTONS, COASTERS): http://www.cornerofthegalaxy.com/SHOP COG STUDIOS, Calif. -- Guillermo Barros Schelotto has been fired by the LA Galaxy. It was probably a necessary step for a team that has struggled with any positive momentum throughout the Covid-affected year. So with Dominic Kinnear in charge of the Galaxy for the time being -- his second stint as interim head coach -- how did we get to this point once again? On today's show, your hosts Josh Guesman and Eric Vieira dive into the timeline of events that led to Schelotto's sacking on Thursday afternoon. The guys start with some weird injury announcement from Chicharito. Was his Instagram post out of line? And how many conspiracy theories can the guys come up with when it comes to the $15-million man? Then it's off to discuss the Galaxy's abysmal loss to the Portland Timbers. Did Dennis te Kloese know that he was going to have to fire Schelotto after the game? And what did he say at halftime that gave us some clues on which way he was leaning? Then the guys dig into the announcement of Schelotto's firing and what te Kloese had to say during his afternoon press conference. In fact, we'll give you pretty full coverage of the press conference during the show to get you caught up on everything that was said during the entire event. Finally, the guys will go over all the rule changes MLS put in place to get the 2020 season done and dusted and why the Galaxy might have a slightly better chance at getting into the playoffs with the points per game governing their outcome. There's even a little game preview of the Real Salt Lake game coming up this weekend. In total, we've got over 90-minutes of important Galaxy-talk. Don't miss it! And thanks for joining us tonight!

COG LA GALAXY DISCORD: https://discord.gg/9g8FcfU COG MERCHANDISE (SCARVES, T-SHIRTS, BUTTONS, COASTERS): http://www.cornerofthegalaxy.com/SHOP COG STUDIOS, Calif. -- A loss to LAFC on Sunday afternoon was almost in the cards for the LA Galaxy. But with a terrible call from the officials, and some horrible defending from Giancarlo "Pipo" Gonzalez, it was at least an interesting night for the club. On today's show, hosts Josh Guesman and Kevin Baxter discuss some of the issues surrounding this club's nose-dive to the bottom of the standings and what can still be done for this team. Do you feel optimistic? Then Kevin has a unicorn to sell you. The guys will start with the VAR debacle at Banc of California that could have cost the Galaxy a point. Has VAR jumped the shark? Are officials even allowed to use their eyes? And how can you link a boundary call with an offside call and illustrate precisely what is wrong with what they're asking VAR to do? Then, Josh and Kevin will tell you why teams are lying to you, and the league is doing nothing about it. Do you want accurate injury news, then start pressing on MLS to do something about it. After all, it's not like the league didn't do it before. They just stopped caring about whether or not you were satisfied with the results. But the central portion of this show will be spent talking of Pipo Gonzalez's failures in El Trafico's and how he let all of his Galaxy teammates down. And baring a ridiculously bad contract deal, he should never start for the Galaxy again. That contract, and it's more than a million-dollar payout, has run its course. And having said all that about Gonzalez, the Galaxy still had relatively little chance of winning that game, especially when it looks like VAR went out of its way to not look at the play. Is Chicharito's injury real? Or is something else happening behind the scenes. Is he fed up with being benched? Is he demanding a trade? And could a former coach of his be eyeing the top spot with the Galaxy? Finally, the Guys get you ready for a tough match in Portland, where they'll take on the Timbers in a must-win game that isn't really a must-win. But Kevin will still weave a yarn about magical creatures, impossibilities, and flat out hope that should have you ready to believe... or not. We've got a packed show for you today, and we can't wait for you to join us!

What follows is our very poor version of a debate that will cover a wide range of topics and discussion points. Your hosts for the day are Josh Guesman, Eric Vieira, and Larry Morgan (Sophie couldn't make it -- she was afraid of the mute buttons). The guys will tackle some tough questions and get you answers that you may not like. Additionally, all three of our hosts will help you get ready for the LAFC game on Sunday. Josh will start by introducing our candidates and laying some of the ground rules. Then, it's a free-for-all when we invoke the name of Bruce Arena more than 3,000 times, tell lies about secret Twitter accounts, love letters to Joao Pedro, and question foreign money coming into both of speakers. Then Eric will call Larry "Sleepy Larry," and everything will really go sideways. But along the twisting and winding way, we'll tell you what we think should happen to Guillermo Barros Schelotto, Dennis te Kloese, Chris Klein, and Dan Beckerman. Plus, should the Galaxy try to keep Cristian Pavon or Chicharito? We've got a packed show that gets you up to the kick-off of another El Trafico. ANOTHER EL TRAFICO? Yeah, another one! And everyone here wants to make sure that you're voting! Seriously, go vote! Thanks for joining us on a wacky, fun night. We hope we distracted you from the World's problems for at least 60 minutes! Stay safe! Vote!

COG LA GALAXY DISCORD: https://discord.gg/9g8FcfU COG MERCHANDISE (SCARVES, T-SHIRTS, BUTTONS, COASTERS): http://www.cornerofthegalaxy.com/SHOP COG STUDIOS, Calif. -- Coming off a horrible loss to in-state rivals, the San Jose Earthquakes, the LA Galaxy are struggling to keep their heads above water in a Western Conference that they should be competitive in. On today's show, hosts Josh Guesman and Eric Vieira discuss the Galaxy's options going forward and what they saw in a non-competitive match against the 'Quakes. First, the guys will start by breaking down a new lineup, a new formation, and some new problems as Guillermo Barros Schelotto rolled out changes that didn't last long. They'll discuss Johnathan Klinsmann's first MLS start in goal and why this might be the only time a goalkeeper receives praise while still allowing four goals on the night. Plus, what was Schelotto's idea behind starting in a 4-4-2 lineup, and what caused the empty bucket scenario that the new formation thrown out in the first half? And with all the focus on the final score, they're plenty to discuss surrounding Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez's early departure from the game. Was GBS trying to make a point? And if so, who was he trying to get the point across to? There's some turmoil in the locker room, and Josh and Eric want to know if it's because the Galaxy aren't ready to follow GBS anymore. And the question comes up a lot, is this team lazy? The guys will tell you why they're not! Even if the results may tell you otherwise. Then Josh breaks out the blame pie -- something they stole from a famous radio act in LA -- to illustrated who is on the chopping block and who might stay. PLEASE DON'T SEND US YOUR BLAME PIES! Finally, the guys will discuss Robbie Keane and what he could mean as a possible replacement for GBS. Do the Galaxy get a win against Vancouver? It's a packed show, and it's just waiting to get started!
