The Totally Football Show is back for 2024 with Jimbo joined by Daniel Storey, Jay Harris and JJ Bull after another significant Premier League weekend. Liverpool are 3 points clear at the top of the table as they smash Newcastle and xG records at Anfield. But will the title race be decided by Mo Salah heading off to AFCON and Kevin De Bruyne returning from injury? It’s been a damaging Christmas for Arsenal’s title hopes after back-to-back defeats. Have the Gunners become boring and predictable? Man United are beaten again by Nottingham Forest with fans left to rue the decision to exchange Antony for Anthony Elanga. Plus Wayne Rooney is sacked, Cole Palmer is good, Ivan Toney’s future and the worst 5-a-side team in the Premier League. Produced by Charlie Jones. On the Gameweek 20 Review Suj and James discuss all the drama from the games so far and it began with Cole Palmer hauling and ended with Mo Salah hauling after missing a 1st half penalty. Elsewhere there was disappointment for Manchester United and Arsenal in defeats at Nottingham Forest and Fulham, Tottenham were 'lucky' again and Wolves dominated Everton. On the agenda for many FPL managers will now be finding replacements for departing AFCON and Asia Cup players including Mo Salah and Heung-Min Son and the Podcast has a theme of midfield replacements under consideration throughout, but also a warning of why the final decision shouldn't need to be made just yet. While The Soccer Sharps were unable to deliver an episode for the midweek action, they did post some Official Plays to their Discord server, and despite going 4-4 on those plays, The Sharps were able to turn a profit due to cashing some plus-money selections. Devin and Jordan look to build on that profit as they turn in their final episode of 2023, which features 5 Official Plays for matches in Serie A and the EPL. It's green arrows for Suj and James on the Gameweek 19 Review but very different fortunes for their teams on a dramatic Thursday night as Brighton scored four against Tottenham at The Amex and West Ham caused a shock by winning 2-0 at Arsenal. And they weren't the only surprises this week as Chris Wood scored a stunning hat-trick in Nottingham Forest's victory at Newcastle, while Wolves were another team to score big as they scored four at Brentford and there were some surprising bonus points for offensive FPL defenders. All the games covered, including Manchester United's comeback victory against Aston Villa and Manchester City looked back to their best at Everton with Phil Foden the star of the show. And there's lots to debate ahead of tomorrow's GW20 FPL Deadline, with several great options for captaincy and some extreme benching headaches for some may lead to an activation of a number of Bench Boost chips. But there are warnings of more potential weekend rotation and notes that although GW20 may look great on paper for many FPL managers GW21 needs to be kept in mind, particularly with so many players leaving for AFCON and the Asia Cup. James is joined by Nottingham Forest fan Mark Sutherns and Everton fan Sean Norton to discuss all the latest at their clubs and preview the Saturday night meeting between the two at the City Ground in GW14. The Podcast begins by covering Everton's point discussion with Sean given the opportunity to cover the mood and opinion from the Everton perspective on the punishment given to The Toffees and whether they are still likely to avoid relegation despite the deduction. Forest have a good run of fixtures which includes a Blank GW18 meeting with Bournemouth and there are defensive and offensive enablers that can be considered for FPL managers and Mark has some interesting words on Morgan Gibbs-White and how he may fare in the absence of talisman Taiwo Awoniyi. But is Steve Cooper under increasing pressure...? And for Everton, Dominic Calvert-Lewin is fit, while Jarrod Branthwaite and Abdoulaye Doucoure may also be worth consideration for an Everton team that now know every game takes on increased importance. It always seemed likely to be a tough weekend for Fantasy managers with many faced with conflicting issues and that has proved to be the case for many, including Suj and James, who reflect on their underwhelming weekends during the Gamewwek 13 Review. All the games discussed including another mad Tottenham game that ended in defeat to Villa side that's up to 4th, West Ham won it late, as did Arsenal who went top following the City-Liverpool draw, while Chelsea lost heavily at Newcastle, it was a great weekend for Luton and Alejandro Garnacho scored one of 'the' great Premier League goals at Goodison Park. FPL thinking discussed, including why Jarrod Bowen's fitness will determine what many will do, there's a number of misfield enablers suddenly putting their hand up for consideration, prospects for going double defence - including Arsenal, GW14 captaincy, Matt(y) Cash concerns, Reece James, why those who are planning to Wildcard in GW19 may have just been given a gift by the injury Gods... Robbie Earle and Stephen Warnock recap an entertaining Gameweek 12 of the Premier League

Jimbo is joined by Carl Anka, Sasha Goryunov and Matt Davies-Adams after another Premier League weekend packed full of talking points. Luton so nearly beat Liverpool but it’s Luis Diaz of all people who finds the equaliser for the Reds. Are they in this season’s title race? It’s a big blow for last season’s challengers Arsenal who are beaten in a feisty clash with Newcastle, with Mikel Arteta and the club branding the officiating embarrassing. It’s a last-gasp win for Man United but there are plenty of questions surrounding the condition of Harry Maguire and Marcus Rashford after the victory at Craven Cottage. Plus Doku, Kudus and the most seismic news of the weekend - Emma Hayes will be leaving WSL champions Chelsea at the end of the season. Produced by Charlie Jones. RUNNING ORDER: • PART 1a: Luton 1-1 Liverpool (02.20) • PART 1b: Nottingham Forest 2-0 Aston Villa (11.20) • PART 2: Man City 6-1 Bournemouth (18.00) • PART 3a: Newcastle 1-0 Arsenal (26.00) • PART 3b: Emma Hayes leaving Chelsea (38.00) • PART 4: Fulham 0-1 Man United (42.00) • PART 5a: Fluminense 2-1 Boca Juniors (52.00) • PART 5b: The rest of the Premier League weekend (55.00) SIGN UP TO THE ATHLETIC TODAY FOR £1.99 A MONTH FOR 12 MONTHS • theathletic.com/totally Hosted on Acast. Robbie Mustoe and Robbie Earle analyze an eventful Matchweek 11 in the Premier League

Kelly Cates is joined by Jamie Carragher, Curtis Davies and Karen Carney as Luis Diaz scored a late equaliser on an emotional return to the Liverpool team to deny a brilliant Luton side a memorable Premier League win. Jamie Carragher slammed Darwin Nunez for not scoring after failing to score several opportunities by saying ‘he has to stop the memes’. Jurgen Klopp gave his opinion on a potential handball in the build-up to Luton’s goal and whether Virgil van Dijk was fouled in the penalty area five minutes before. Nottingham Forest’s two-nil against Aston Villa is also analysed after Emiliano Martinez's mistake helped Steve Cooper's side to end a six-game winless run along with Newcastle’s controversial win against Arsenal on Saturday night.
