Welcome back to another episode of the Fan Debate, brought to you by Sky Bet. Jamie Carragher is joined by some of the biggest fan channels in the country to break down the biggest talking points in the Premier League right now. We start with the 1–1 draw between Chelsea and Arsenal. What does it mean for the title race and what did we learn about both sides? We also look at Declan Rice and where he ranks among the world’s best midfielders. That result opens the door for Manchester City, who continue to hunt Arsenal down. Can Pep’s side catch them, and will their famous second half of the season surge prove decisive again? We also check in with Aston Villa and Sunderland after their impressive starts and ask just how far both teams can go this season. Meanwhile, Newcastle and Fulham have had mixed results, can either find consistency and push up the table? Despite beating West Ham, questions continue to follow Liverpool and Arne Slot. After a heavy summer spend, why are the same problems still showing and is the investment paying off? Manchester United also get discussed after a big win at Selhurst Park. Is Ruben Amorim finally finding rhythm after a shaky start, and can United now put a run of results together? If you had to give your team a score out of 10 for their season so far, what would you choose? It's Jimbo, Daniel Storey, Tim Spiers and Matt Davies-Adams in action after an action-packed Premier League weekend. Leaders Arsenal had a man advantage for more than a half of football at Stamford Bridge but a great performance from Chelsea ensured it finished 1-1. The Gunners now sit five points clear of Manchester City. Liverpool get back to winning ways at West Ham as Alexander Isak finally scores his first league goal for the Reds. Jimbo has Duncan Alexander, Charlie Eccleshare and Liam Tharme alongside him in Totally Towers to look back on an incident-filled Wednesday night of Champions League action - and to look ahead to MD13 in the Premier League. Liverpool's season reached a new nadir at Anfield, beaten 4-1 by PSV to make in 9 defeats in their last 12 games for Arne Slot's side. Andy Jones was at the game and drops by to talk us through the latest horror show for the Reds. Arsenal meanwhile maintained their perfect start in the Champions League as they inflicted a first defeat of the season on Bayern Munich in their 3-1 win. Just how good was that second half performance in particular for the Gunners? Jay Harris joins us live from the Gare du Nord to reflect on Spurs' showing. Then it's all eyes on the upcoming Premier League weekend - and a top of the table clash as Chelsea host Arsenal at Stamford Bridge no less. Elsewhere, can Man City get back to winning ways against Leeds? Is West Ham just about the worst place for Liverpool to go in need of a result on Sunday? And are Wolves seriously going to find a way to stay up!? Produced by Charlie Jones and Lucy Oliva. We’re eleven games into the 2025/26 Premier League season. Arsenal are top, Man City are clinging to their coat tails, Sunderland are in the Champions League places and just four points separate 2nd from 9th. Meanwhile Newcastle are languishing in 14th, Fulham’s top scorer is own goals, West Ham and Nottingham Forest are in the relegation zone and Wolves sit rock bottom, still yet to win a game. So, is this the most unpredictable the Premier League has been in recent years? Host: Matt Davies-Adams With: Tim Spiers & Megan Feringa Executive Producer: Abi Paterson Producer: Jay Beale Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
Adam Hurrey is joined on the midweek Adjudication Panel by Charlie Eccleshare and David Walker. On the agenda: the coining of a superb phrase in Canada, Dua Lipa tests the football hipster threshold, Conor Bradley’s triple lock on Vinicius Junior, an early contender for semi-accidental footballing portmanteau of the season, how to (not) "pull up trees", the celebrity TV equivalent of inevitably signing for West Ham and English football stadiums that could be someone’s name. Meanwhile, after Thomas Tuchel's description of Phil Foden as a "nine and a half", the panel put together a definitive team of Number and a Halfs. It was a rollercoaster weekend in the Premier League, with many clubs being thrown from joy one minute to despair the next. Musa and Ryan focus on Manchester City’s 3-0 over Liverpool (03:30), which saw another goal for Erling Haaland and arguably Jeremy Doku’s best performance in a City shirt so far. For Liverpool, it was another day to forget and there’s yet more to ponder for Arne Slot during this men's international break. Sunderland did what no side has done this season, by scoring two against Arsenal at the Stadium of Light (21:38), there was late drama at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium and more great wins for Villa, West Ham, Brentford and Everton. There's also chat about Pep Guardiola, after he reached 1000 games as a manager this weekend. All the non-Premier League stuff will be on the midweek show, up Wednesday for members, and for any London listeners, don't forget to get tickets for our first live show at the Southbank Centre here. The Mayor of FPL Tom Campbell guest hosts the Gameweek Review Podcast this week with James to discuss the fallout from the 9 games played in Gameweek 10, and it featured some shocking performances, none worse than James' Tottenham who limply lost to Chelsea. Newcastle can also lay claim to a shocker as they were beaten at West Ham yesterday, whilst there were important wins for Liverpool and Manchester City, but they are no closer to an Arsenal side who won to nil at Burnley. There's an FPL overview on every side that played, short-term punts to consider, the genuine merits of owning players like Declan Rice and Moises Caicedo, the appeal of forwards versus midfielders, Crystal Palace assets and lots more. Plus, Tom took on an unusual challenge in FPL this season, and though it hasn't worked as hoped, he's finding enjoying playing more than he did last season. Dharmesh Sheth is joined by John Cross, Riath Al-Samarrai and Jack Rosser to reflect on the weekend’s sporting action. We start with Liverpool’s fourth consecutive Premier League defeat — a run that John describes as “mind-blowing.” So, what’s gone wrong with their defence this season? Attention then shifts to Manchester United, who beat Brighton for a third consecutive win — the first under Ruben Amorim. Is this yet another false dawn, or does this one feel different? Riath remains unconvinced. Next up is West Ham United. After kicking off the weekend with a third straight league loss to Leeds, Jack doesn’t hold back — calling Nuno’s team “unbalanced, old, and slow.” We then move to league leaders Arsenal, flying high after six straight wins in all competitions and a dominant 4–0 midweek victory over Atlético Madrid. John says it’s shaping up to be a “spectacular” season for Arteta. We’re also joined by The Athletic’s Dermot Corrigan to chat all things El Clásico. For the first time, there’s major English involvement — Dermot highlights how Jude Bellingham has shone in previous clashes, and why Marcus Rashford could be crucial with Raphinha and Lewandowski out. Finally, a super start for newly promoted Sunderland, leaping to second in the Premier League after a dramatic win at Stamford Bridge, which had fans singing, “We’re going to win the league.” Sunday Supplement is a Sky Sports podcast.
