Blank Canvas | Planet SkyFF S.5 Ep.36 | Sky Fantasy Football

Suj and James discuss all the latest Talking points for Sky Fantasy with only 9 teams participating over the upcoming week and for many it will be a week to take stock rather than invest again after a period where many have taken advantage of gains. But that's not the case for everyone... Should those without investment in Bournemouth-Luton tonight buy Dominic Solanke or consider a Luton alternative? Jarrod Bowen vs Ollie Watkins is the debate for Sunday's captaincy and for those who haven't gone for investment in Tottenham should that be amended as a priority ahead of Saturday's trip to Fulham? Plus, learnings from the weekend, why selling Brighton assets may need to be reconsidered, buying a new goalkeeper, investment in Arsenal after the Internationals, listener questions and more. Cunha Believe it? | Planet FPL S. 7 Ep. 34 | GW23 Review | Fantasy Premier League

It was a weekend with lots of goals in the Premier League and that meant some big swings for FPL managers in GW23 as Richarlison and Ollie Watkins returned big and there were also big hauls for attacking enablers such as Alejandro Garnacho and Matheus Cunha, but find defensive returns was far more difficult. All the games reviewed including Tottenham's draw at Everton, Villa's thumping win at Sheffield United, Manchester United's comfortable victory against West Ham and Arsenal won the big one, and deservedly so, against Liverpool. And despite defeat Liverpool assets appeal now that we know their fixture against Luton Town has finally been announced for DGW25. But their opponents Luton also have several excellent options and were involved in a thrilling 4-4 draw at Newcastle. There are eyes on how to manipulate the upcoming blanks and doubles, thoughts on Man City assets ahead of tonight's trip to Brentford and there are a couple of Premier League managers now under big pressure... and they meet at Selhurst Park next week! Aston Villa v Newcastle | CotC with Lee Jackson & Simon Bibby | Planet FPL 2023/24

On Clash of the Correspondents James is joined by Aston Villa fan Lee Jackson and Newcastle United fan Simon Bibby to discuss the latest at their clubs ahead and the best FPL assets from each ahead of the GW22 meeting at Villa Park. Are Villa still in contention for the title? And would it now be a disappointment if they didn't finish in the top 4? Villa's excellent record this season evokes memories in Newcastle's outstanding campaign last season. But Eddie Howe's side could find themselves in the bottom half before they travel to Villa. Are injuries the obvious explanation for a run of 6 defeats in 7 or is the manager's position under threat? There's FPL discussion, including the prospects of captaining a Villa or Newcastle player in GW23, whether the likes of Ollie Watkins and Kieran Trippier should be held longer-term despite many FPL managers requiring funds for multiple premium assets and there's also discussion on the likes of Alex Moreno and Anthony Gordon. Plus, with FFP and PSR a hot topic this weeks what do the fans of the 2 clubs who seem most capable of breaking through the ceiling of the big 6 think about restrictions their clubs are currently under? Aston Villa v Man City | CotC with Lee Jackson & Jonny Pringle | Planet FPL 2023/24

Ahead of tonight's GW15 Deadline it's a top 4 Clash of the Correspondents as James is joined by Aston Villa fan Lee Jackson and Manchester City fan Jonny Pringle to discuss the latest at their clubs and preview the Wednesday night meeting at Villa Park. Villa could go above City with victory and then face Arsenal next, could they mount an unlikely title challenge if this week goes well? But it's been 3 consecutive draws for City in which they led in each game. Is this a bump in the road or should we be concerned about City's form? There's FPL chat on Villa assets ahead of the all important Blank Gameweek 18 featuring discussion on Matty Cash, Moussa Diaby and Ollie Watkins in particular. While for City, following the trip to Villa their fixture schedule is extremely attractive, but they don't play in the Blank. There's coverage on Erling Haaland, Julian Alvarez, Phil Foden and if any of the defensive assets can be considered. Plus, with Jack Grealish and crucially Rodri suspended for Wednesday's game, are City in for a rough night on Wednesday? An Ollie Controversy | Planet FPL S. 7 Ep. 13 | Fantasy Premier League

Suj and James review all the football so far in Gameweek 7 which featured huge controversy, particularly at White Hart Lane with Luis Diaz having a goal disallowed which was clearly onside. James sets a 10 minute timer to explain anger at what was arguably the worst piece of refereeing in Premier League history, despite the fact victory took Tottenham up to second. The rant is followed by discussion on all the games including Villa's mauling of Brighton as Ollie Watkins scored a monster 23 points to take him top of the FPL points scoring chart ahead of Erling Haaland who blanked as Manchester City were beaten at Wolves. Plus, all the FPL assets of interest discussed as West Ham and Jarrod Bowen come into our thinking, there's injury updates, tactical thoughts and whether Heung-Min Son is deserving of the Gameweek 8 armband... Aston Villa with Lee Jackson | Correspondent Week ep. 3 | Planet FPL 2023/24

Lee Jackson joins James to kick off Correspondent Week Tuesday to discuss Aston Villa who have the addition of European football this season after a great end to the season under Unai Emery and they could now have eyes on the top 6. Villa have 6 4.5 defenders, which is best? On Clash of the Correspondents this week Jameas is joined by Wolves fan Bradley Parker and Aston Villa fan Lee Jackson to preview Saturday's GW35 meeting at Molineux and discuss the latest at their clubs. SNF | Emery's Villa stun Blues at the Bridge | Hasselbaink: ‘Chelsea need to be calmer in front of goal’ | Mudryk divides opinion

Dave Jones presents 'Saturday Night Football' alongside Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink and Lee Hendrie, and they watched Aston Villa beat Chelsea 2-0 at Stamford Bridge to move above the hosts and into the top half of the Premier League. Lee described Chelsea’s defending as ‘schoolboy’ whilst Jimmy said their main problem is putting the ball in the back of the net and they need to be calmer in front of goal. The duo also highlighted Ollie Watkins’ performance which was capped by another away goal and the forward produced a standout performance. Mykhaylo Mudryk again failed to impress for Chelsea and missed some key chances, but Hasselbaink defended the forward saying that he needs more time to settle. However, Hendrie feels the Ukrainian should have converted the opportunities he failed to capitalise on. They also discuss Graham Potter’s future, and feel if the negative results continue, the pressure will build. Hendrie thinks the Champions League tie against Real Madrid will be crucial to determine Potter's outcome. Hasselbaink however believes Chelsea’s board should look at Arsenal’s decision to back Mikel Arteta and trust the process as the Gunners are a great example of adopting that approach. There is also reaction from both goal scorers, Ollie Watkins and John McGinn as well as Graham Potter, who felt Chelsea were second best in both boxes despite having more attempts. Unai Emery also gives his views on the result and said that securing European football for next season will be difficult, but they will try to achieve it. Aston Villa v Bournemouth | CotC with @Lee_Jackson_92 & @AFCBNG | Planet FPL 2022/23

On the second Clash of the Correspondents ahead of Blank Gameweek 28 James is joined by Aston Villa fan Neil Grover and Bournemouth fan Neil Grover to preview the weekend meeting at Villa Park, all the latest at their clubs and the FPL assets of interest with both clubs playing in the Blank and having a double Gameweek in 29. Villa will appeal particularly this week, should Ollie Watkins be a shoo-in for FPL managers? Whose the best of the Villa defenders to target? (we find out it's complicated!) and what about the prospects for Leon Bailey and Emi Buendia? While Bournemouth shouldn't be overlooked neccessarily either, Philip Billing is on a fine run of form and there's a strong case made for Neto, Dango Outtara and Dominic Solanke who could all offer solutions, particularly for those looking to Bench Boost in GW29. Plus, can Villa make a late run for a European spot and Bournemouth will believe with their remaining fixtures (they only play one of the top 8 between now and the end of the season) that they can prove the doubters wrong and beat the drop... Aston Villa with @Lee_Jackson_92 | Correspondent Week ep 8 | Planet FPL

Suj & James welcome Aston Villa correspondent Lee Jackson on to the Podcast discuss hopes for improvements in Steven Gerrard's first full season in charge and the majority of the squad are showing themselves as interesting options for FPL managers with great opening fixtures. Matty Cash v Lucas Digne may be a closer decision than current ownership numbers suggest in the battle between the 5.0 defenders, but their output could be affected by the formation Gerrard selects. It's 4-3-3 or a diamond but it's not clear if there's a favoured set up and the potential impact could affect several players including the popular Phillipe Coutinho (7.0), Leon Bailey (5.0) and Danny Ings (7.0). Plus, an intro to new signings Diego Carlos and Boubacar Kamara, why Danny Ings and Ollie Watkins together doesn't seem to work like it feels like it should, who will have favourtism between Tyrone Mings and Ezri Konsa and why the exciting Carney Cuckwuemeka may be leaving the club... Aston Villa v Crystal Palace | CotC with @Lee_Jackson_92 & @Migtavius | Planet FPL

On this Planet FPL Clash of the Correspondents Podcast James is joined by Aston Villa fan Lee Jackson and Crystal Palace fan Migtavius to discuss all the latest at their clubs ahead of the final double gameweek of the season which includes Sunday's meeting for the two clubs at Villa Park. There's discussion on if Philippe Coutinho will get back into the Villa team following Saturday's excellent win at Burnley, if Danny Ings could now be the preferred forward option over Ollie Watkins for FPL managers, Lucas Digne's shock return and if he's now a better option in Fantasy than Matty Cash. Is there any reason for FPL managers not to buy Wilfried Zaha? Arguably not, but there are cheaper options that could be considered, they're discussed as are defensive enablers and so to is recently dropped Jean-Philippe Mateta. And with both clubs set for a mid table finish there's a look at what the longer term ambitions are for the two clubs... The Preview Show: England sidle past San Marino, super John McGinn, and super bad Rio Keys

We beat them in the World Cup qualifiers, but San Marino have got Flo Rida for Eurovision and that, ladies and gentlemen, is the real quiz. Kate, Luke and Andy look over last night’s international football on today’s edition of The Preview Show, sponsored by Betway! We hail Brave Boy Ollie Watkins, who has not only made it to Wembley but made it out of Devon, while an old England favourite – Paul Gascoigne – catches our attention for very, very different reasons. Elsewhere, Luke puts the boot in Aidy Boothroyd, we check in with Scotland and their new Cuban revolutionary, Che Adams, and Rio Ferdinand has a very reasonable proposal for Newcastle United fans.
