Tottenham Hotspur 2-2 Brighton: Premier League – live reaction

⚽️ Premier League updates from the 5.30pm BST kick-off ⚽ Live scores | Latest tables | Top scorers | Email Simon 5 mins: A big punt forward from Kinsky towards Solanke, who seems to pretty deliberately take out van Hecke. They both go down and the ball bounces forward, with Simons haring after it. He’s not far away from getting it, either, but Verbruggen comes out to huff it away in the nick of time. Again, the referee lets play continue. 3 mins: Lots of people running around as the game starts with a high tempo. But then Danso stops Minteh completing a one-two and thereby concedes a free-kick on halfway.

Talking England & Answering Your Questions w/Gary, Alan & Micah

Could there really be a world where Jude Bellingham doesn’t start for England at the World Cup this summer? With Thomas Tuchel favouring Morgan Rogers in the number 10 role so far, is Bellingham facing a place on the bench? There are also big questions up front. Who steps in as backup to Harry Kane? Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Dominic Solanke were both given opportunities against Uruguay but failed to impress, while Ollie Watkins hasn’t quite hit top form this season. Does this point to a wider decline in traditional number nines in the English game? Plus, Gary Lineker, Alan Shearer and Micah Richards pick their World Cup favourites and assess where England really stand among the contenders. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The Rest Is Football is powered by Fuse Energy. Musa and Ryan begin this week with a huge game in the WSL, where Manchester City opened up an 11-point gap at the top after their 5-1 win over Chelsea. Arsenal, meanwhile, beat Corinthians in extra-time, to become the winners of the inaugural FIFA Women’s Champions Cup. Then, it’s onto the Premier League, where there was a true game of two halves that saw Spurs and Manchester City play out a 2-2 draw (10:24) and an incredible Dominic Solanke goal, while Aston Villa lost at home to Brentford, who played out the entirety of the second half down to ten. Arsenal extended their lead at the top, thanks to a very impressive 4-0 win away at Leeds (39:24), Manchester United left it late to keep the good times rolling (46:22) and there’s also a round-up of the rest of the Premier League, plus the Bundesliga, La Liga and much more! Tottenham Hotspur with Ricky Saunders | Correspondent Week ep.19 | Planet FPL 2025/26

There's a reason we left this one until near the end... a week ago all seemed positive at Tottenham Hotspur, a win against rivals Arsenal, but a week on and James Maddison has picked up an ACL injury, others such as Destiny Udogie and Dominic Solanke, who were meant to be back still aren't, and last night Bayern Munich handed Thomas Frank's boys a bit if a football lesson. Ricky Saunders joins James to discuss what that means for Fantasy ahead of an enticing set of fixtures. Pedro Porro, Cristian Romero and Micky Van De Ven all still appeal at different price points and parts of the FPL community want one of Brennan Johnson or Mohammed Kudus. But might a cheaper alternative step up in the opening weeks of the season? Man United's Europa League madness & can Villa halt Newcastle's charge?

There are six games to go in the Premier League, so we’re focusing on the race for Champions League football as Aston Villa take on Newcastle United, while Manchester United and Spurs kept their dreams of qualifying for next season’s competition alive with victories in the Europa League. Mark Critchley joins us to talk about a ridiculous night at Old Trafford that saw Ruben Amorim's side score two goals in injury time of extra time, to beat Lyon 5-4 on the night and 7-6 on aggregate. We hear from Jay Harris who was in Frankfurt where a Dominic Solanke penalty saw Spurs win 1-0, so Ange Postecoglou isn't going anywhere quite yet. The Athletic's Newcastle writer Chris Waugh and Aston Villa writer Jacob Tanswell are with us to preview their respective side's clash at Villa Park on Saturday evening, in what could be a pivotal game in the race for Champions League football. Bournemouth v Tottenham | CotC with Neil Grover & Ricky Saunders | Planet FPL 2024/25

On Clash of the Correspondents James is joined by Bournemouth fan Neil Grover and Tottenham fan Ricky Saunders to discuss the latest at their clubs ahead of Thursday's GW14 meeting on the South Coast. Andoni Iraola's Cherries are impressing and fresh from an excellent victory at Wolves host a Tottenham side who continue to show inconsistencies and have a growing injury list. Antonie Semenyo returns from suspension and will interest FPL managers but does Saturday's penalty hat-trick hero Justin Kluivert offer an even cheaper route for Fantasy managers into The Cherries attack? There was another goal for Brennan Johnson at the weekend and his underlying data suggests there could be more to come, so why is he being overlooked by the majority of Fantasy managers and is he now the best asset from the league's top scorers. Plus, there's discussion on Evanilson and Dominic Solanke, who, sickness permitting, is set to face his old club, there's concern over the goalkeeping situations at both clubs and there's advice for those who want to buy or invest in the likes of Milos Kerkez and Pedro Porro Thursday on Clash of the Correspondents: Fulham v Arsenal with Lewis James and Adam Pritchard Tomorrow on Planet FPL: The Clayton & James Show Ep. 17 Today on Patreon: The Differential Show and The Team News Stream For the full Planet FPL schedule this week, including our offering on Patreon view this post: https://www.patreon.com/posts/117134006 Want to become a member of our FPL community and support the Podcast? Ask James | Friday November 22nd | Planet FPL 2024/25

On Ask James today, with the news of Tottenham missing both first choice centre backs there's a big warning for Fantasy managers who were looking to sell Erling Haaland, but with Mateo Kovacic also out for City, Tottenham are not without their own chances to hurt tomorrow and that may make selling or benching the likes of Brennan Johnson or Dominic Solanke awkward too. Plus, Trent Alexander-Arnold is out and James will be moving him on as part of a plan to get Alexander Isak, and going treble Arsenal defence is not something James is ruling out at this stage, particularly with one player's xMins on the rise following today's Team News. The 7.5-9.0 Forwards | The People's Poll ep. 153 | Planet FPL 2024/25

Suj and James have a look at five FPL forwards that James has been repeatedly warning recently that FPL managers shouldn't cut themselves off of, because although there are several good options below 7.5 (and one very good one above 9.0!) these five players may well show greater consistency and have more explosiveness. The 5 players in question (WishJ) are Ollie Watkins, Alexander Isak, Dominic Solanke, Kai Havertz and Nicolas Jackson. There's analysis of their statistics so far this season and a look at the fixtures ahead, with consideration to who their threats from within, their capability to be Fantasy talisman and much more. The Dominator | Planet FPL S. 8 Ep. 19 | GW10 Review | Fantasy Premier League

Clayton joins James to discuss the weekend fixtures from Gameweek 10 with Mo Salah captainers doing well, but many other popular assets misfired, which included the majority of James' team, infact all of James' team misfired, but it was somewhat saved from being the Gameweek from hell by Dominic Solanke! And the Tottenham forward was also a surprise selection as part of Clayton's Wildcard which has performed well. On the Pod, discussion on all the games includes why James was confident Bournemouth could upset Manchester City, Newcastle's tactical structure that nullified Arsenal, Chelsea intrigued but failed to see off Ruud Van Nistelrooy's 'good lads' of Manchester United and fears for Gary O'Neil at Wolves only intensified after a 2-2 draw with Crystal Palace. And FOMO might have hit James for the first time this season... *Recorded last night prior to this morning's reported news that it now looks likely Dominic Solanke will be on his way to Tottenham... ...James is joined by Bournemouth fan Neil Grover and conversation immediately gets into the big transfer story featuring The Cherries, with talisman Dominic Solanke heavily linked with a move to Tottenham. Will he or won't he? And in which circumstances should FPL managers be investing in the forward? There's discussion on which Cherries attacking assets may step up in the scenario of their star forward leaving, one solution may be that a player listed as a midfielder could end up out of position. Plus, best defensive assets assessed, where the club can be expected to invest in the transfer market and the club's continuing ambition to improve. Tottenham with Ricky Saunders | Correspondent Week ep.7 | Planet FPL 2024/25

James is joined by fellow Tottenham fan Ricky Saunders to discuss all things Tottenham and begin by asking if the target for the season ahead must be qualification back into The Champions League. Rumours would suggest that the club may be about to make a push to sign Bournemouth's Dominic Solanke, would he be the right fit and how interested should FPL managers have in him if the move happens? And what would it mean for the future of Richarlison? There are three players in the midfield bracket at 6.5 and their prospects are assessed, James Maddison's form remains a concern, Heung-Min Son is a powerful differential who the majority are currently overlooking and Tottenham may have the most exciting 4.5 midfielder in Lucas Bergvall. Plus, there's coverage of the brilliant youngsters in the Tottenham squad who may break into the first team this season, the backline is likely to look familiar and both Ricky and James are in agreement on the one Tottenham player they have to have in FPL. Wolves v Bournemouth | CotC with Bradley Parker & Neil Grover | Planet FPL 2023/24

James is joined by Wolves fan Bradley Parker and Bournemouth fan Neil Grover on Clash of the Correspondents with the two sides set to face off at Molineux as part of Double Gameweek 34 and there will be plenty of interest in FPL assets from both clubs, particularly from those on a Free Hit. But do the two teams have anything to play for? The key talismen, Matheus Cunha and Dominic Solanke are discussed and there are pros and cons covered about the week ahead for both forwards. Attacking and enabling alternatives from both clubs may well go under the radar such as Pablo Sarabia and Justin Kluivert, though per haps they shouldn't. And what can be expected from a returning Hwang Hee-Chan? Many FPL managers will be awaiting key news on Wolves OOP defender Rayan Ait-Nouri, but will he even remain as part of an attacking front 3 if fit, and is he even the best OOP left footed defender for the week ahead from these two clubs? Milos Kerkez could well end up in a more advanced position for The Cherries. Plus, conversation on Gary O'Neil and Andoni Iraola, the goalkeepers, injuries, form, fixtures and more... Blank Canvas | Planet SkyFF S.5 Ep.36 | Sky Fantasy Football

Suj and James discuss all the latest Talking points for Sky Fantasy with only 9 teams participating over the upcoming week and for many it will be a week to take stock rather than invest again after a period where many have taken advantage of gains. But that's not the case for everyone... Should those without investment in Bournemouth-Luton tonight buy Dominic Solanke or consider a Luton alternative? Jarrod Bowen vs Ollie Watkins is the debate for Sunday's captaincy and for those who haven't gone for investment in Tottenham should that be amended as a priority ahead of Saturday's trip to Fulham? Bournemouth v Luton | CotC with Neil Grover & Dan Ashby | Planet FPL 2023/24

On Clash of the Correspondents James is joined by Bournemouth fan Neil Grover and Luton fan Dan Ashby as the two teams face each other to complete Double Gameweek 28. There's a heavy FPL focus on this one with full coverage of the assets across both teams. Dominic Solanke, fitness permitting, looks set to be captained by the majority of FPL managers, but should those who haven't used the Triple Captain chip go all in on The Cherries talisman? With Marcos Senesi now set to miss the double who is the best Bournemouth defensive option? Marcus Tavernier? Justin Kluivert or an alternative midfielder? Do alternative options at Luton such as Alfie Doughty and Ross Barkley offer more reliability than the Bournemouth options? Can any of the Luton enablers be trusted? And can selling Erling Haaland for Carlton Morris really be considered for those not Free Hitting in GW29? Plus, discussion on The Hatters hopes for survival, why Bourbnemouth may have not looked at their brest despite ending their winless run at Burnley and the Podcast begins with discussion on Tom Lockyer whose cardiac arrest when the sides originally met is why the sides will now meet again next Wednesday.
