On the eve of Euro 2024, Adam Hurrey, Charlie Eccleshare and David Walker are joined by Michael Cox to select a lineup of players most inextricably linked with the European Championship. The deliberations feature a strict Greeks and Czechs quota, the "Kopke vs Toldo" dilemma, a Silver Goal scorer in the heart of the defence, a dinker, a scooper and a disgraced former UEFA president in midfield, a clamour for Alan Dzagoev, a frankly inevitable bias towards Euro 2004, Will Grigg on fire (and on the bench) and a battle of the one-hit wonders up front. James is joined by Leicester City correspondent Aaron Lagor following the Foxes crowning as Championship Champions that means they will be making an immediate return to the Premier League under the stewardship of Enzo Maresca. There's discussion on how The Foxes did it, Maresca's philosophy and tactics which naturally has parallels with that of Pep Guardiola, whom Maresca was previously assistant to at Manchester City. There's an overview of the squad which includes some early thoughts on who may appeal to FPL managers next season and that could include the Championship goalkeeper of the season, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and a 37 year-old Jamie Vardy who is still going strong. But there are concerns, with the season rumoured to be set to begin with a points deduction due to failures to meet PSR requirements and therefore spending may be limited and sales shouldn't necessarily be ruled out either. After an extraordinary day of football, Dave Jones is joined by Jamie Carragher, Gary Neville and Louis Saha to look back on Liverpool's 3-1 win at Fulham, as the Reds returned to winning ways. We hear from goal scorer and player of the match, Trent Alexander-Arnold, as well as manager Jurgen Klopp. Elsewhere, they discuss Everton's 2-0 victory over fellow strugglers Nottingham Forest. But, it's what happened after the match that's the biggest talking point, with Forest saying on social media that they're "considering their options" over what they called "extremely poor" refereeing decisions. Plus, Gary reacts to the day's FA Cup semi-final, where Manchester United scraped past Coventry City of the Championship on penalties. Elijah is a baller on the Right Wing for the Bobcats. After 4 years at Louisville (including an ACC Championship) he was drafted 34th overall by Real Salt Lake. Then he landed at Bobcats, scored a bunch and looked dynamic on the right wing and earned a spot with Davey Fuckin' Mason at South Georgia Tormenta in USL-L1 for a season. Now he's back on the club after the Gaffer visited him this offseason and convinced him to re-join the project. It also helps that he now gets to live close to home and represent his home state as a Silver Spring native. We have a fun soccer conversation that covers local Maryland Youth Soccer, the College recruiting proess and playing experience, and some of the hurdles that come along with being a professional soccer player. Then we recap the Open Cup quickly and look forward to an awesome match-up in Richmond against the Kickers for the next round. Can we dream a dream and make it through another round?
