James discusses done deals at Bournemouth, Brighton, Crystal Palace, Leeds and Wolves over the last couple of weeks and discusses some of the big moves being rumoured. That includes discussion on the likes of Anthony Elanga and Eberechi Eze, Arsenal's likely two ew central midfield players, their (and others) desire for a new number 9. And why the June 30th deadline holds importance for clubs looking to comply with PSR and that features Crystal Palace. On Clash of the Correspondents this week James is joined by Wolves fan Bradley Parker and Leicester City fan Sam Martin ahead of the two clubs meeting in Blank Gameweek 34. Wolves have won 5 in a row and will expect to make it 6 at the weekend and many FPL managers look set to invest in Vitor Pereira's side with forwards Horgen Strand Larsen, Matheus Cunha and defensive assets Rayan Ait-Nouri and Emmanuel Agbadou all likely to be popular. So who's best to pick up and can Free Hitters truly have the faith to treble up on the home side. Perhaps, it's not about Wolves, but more about opponents Leicester. The Foxes saw their inevitable relegation confirmed at the weekend. How bad are they currently? And what's likely to happen next for manager Ruud Van Nistelrooy and the club as they prepare for a return to The Championship? On Clash of the Correspondents James is joined by West Ham fan Chris Stone and Southampton fan Matt Samuel to discuss the latest at their clubs ahead of Saturday's GW33 Meeting at The London Stadium. Are West Ham assets being overlooked for doublers incorrectly? There's discussion on the likes of Alphonse Areola, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Mohammed Judus and Jarrod Bowen. It's been a disappointing campaign for The Hammers but for Southampton it could yet be the worst of them all as they bif to overhaul Derby's record low points tally of 11. Can they do it? Plus, further discussion on the difficulty now for promoted clubs, what might be next for Southampton and moves West Ham may make in the summer. James welcomes Fulham fan Lewis James (for his CotC debut) and West Ham fan Chrsi Stone to discuss the latest at their clubs and their FPL assets ahead of Saturday's London Derby at Craven Cottage. There's discussion on each club's start to the season and the integration of some of the new signings towards the end of the transfer window and how they may be integrated into the team, particularly at Fulham with Joachim Andersen, Sander Berge and Reiss Nelson all pushing for inclusion. While at West Ham so far we've seen the integration of Max Kilman, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Guido Rodriguez; but the likes of Crysensio Summerville, Carlos Soler and the current injured Nicklas Fullkrug will all be hoping to break into the team soon. And FPL discussion features discussion on some popular Fulham selections, including Antonee Robinson, Emile Smith-Rowe and Rodrigo Muniz, and why West Ham assets like Jarrod Bowen are continuing to be overlooked by the majority. On the opening of Clash of the Correspondents for 2024/25 James is joined by Wolves fan Bradley Parker and Chelsea fan Gary Mantle to discuss current matters and FPL assets at their clubs ahead of Sunday's meeting at Molineux. As the closure of the transfer window approaches both clubs are in very different positions. Despite recouping close to £100m after the sales of Max Kilman and Pedro Neto (to Chelsea) the club reportedly only have £20m to invest; whilst at Chelsea the spending continues and more can be expected before the transfer window shuts, but the club is trying to sell several players with up to 15 reportedly told they don't have a future at the club and that includes Raheem Sterling. There's discussion on what Chelsea can expect from Neto and what may now be their strongest line-up and where Wolves may look to spend what is available to improve their current squad. Plus, FPL discussions feature a strong interest in Chelsea assets with a good fixture list on the horizon. The Christopher Nkunku and Cole Palmer debate is re-evaluated and if they can be trusted defensively to invest. But The Blues recent record at Wolves is not good, and might the best FPL investment defensively from the two clubs be in the home side? Aaron Lagor joins James to discuss all things Leicester City and their FPL assets ahead of their Monday night Gameweek opener against James' Tottenham. But despite being the Championship Champions they currently don't feel as strong as they did when achieving promotion. Why? Manager Enzo Maresca and key player Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall have departed for Chelsea. Former Nottingham Forest manager Steve Cooper is Maresca's replacement and there's a detailed debate on what may be different under the new manager. For FPL club legend Jamie Vardy may still lead the line, while wide men Abdul Fatawu and Stephy Mavididi are also 5.5. Should any of the trio appeal for investment? And there are enablers to consider with Wout Faes (4.0) and Harry Winks (4.5) both well owned. But you may listen to this Podcast and want to have a second look at Tottenham assets and The Foxes also look set for a points deduction. Simon Bibby joins James to discuss Newcastle's FPL assets with interest very high and the perfect combination of attractive fixtures and some players very nicely priced. Alexander Isak is a shoo-in, isn't he? There's discussion on the Swedish forward, while fellow attacker Anthony Gordon is also going to be a popular pick, as long as he starts against Southampton in Gameweek 1. He will start; won't he? There's going to be interest in the 4.5 defenders with Dan Burn, Lewis Hall and Tino Livramento all under scruting but the answer of which one to go for may be impacted by the future of Kieran Trippier. Si reveals his preference from the three and if extra should be paid for Nick Pope if wanting defensive coverage. Plus, there's another attacker that has Si's interest and the Podcast begins with chat on Eddie Howe's future with the England job available, why he's got to get the club back in the Champions League this season and there's coverage of the changes made an ownership level. Nottingham Forest fan and FPL Blackbox's Mark Sutherns joins James for the Day 2 conclusion of Correspondent Week to discuss all things Forest and their FPL assets, who are catching attention with a great opening set of fixtures. Morgan Gibbs-White is talisman, captain and set to stay. He's assessed versus the cheaper and explosive Callum Hudson-Odoi and also against the plethora of choice in the 6.6 midfield range. Whilst Chris Wood is also attracting attention as a forward who should return well at 6.0, but might there be an alternative at the same price at another club who is better choice with Taiwo Awoniyi also challenging for a place? Plus, all of the defensive assets have been priced at 4.5; Mark details who's best from the backline but there's interest in one more defender and another (yes, really) goalkeeper that means the player that might be of most interest may be yet to join the club. Plus, Nuno Espirito Santo remains despite speculation in the spring that he might not, but it may be another year of battling against relegation and there's also an update on the club's future at The City Ground. James is joined by fellow Tottenham fan Ricky Saunders to discuss all things Tottenham and begin by asking if the target for the season ahead must be qualification back into The Champions League. Rumours would suggest that the club may be about to make a push to sign Bournemouth's Dominic Solanke, would he be the right fit and how interested should FPL managers have in him if the move happens? And what would it mean for the future of Richarlison? There are three players in the midfield bracket at 6.5 and their prospects are assessed, James Maddison's form remains a concern, Heung-Min Son is a powerful differential who the majority are currently overlooking and Tottenham may have the most exciting 4.5 midfielder in Lucas Bergvall. Plus, there's coverage of the brilliant youngsters in the Tottenham squad who may break into the first team this season, the backline is likely to look familiar and both Ricky and James are in agreement on the one Tottenham player they have to have in FPL. Planet FPL Correspondent Mini-League Winner Sean Norton joins James to kick off Day 2 of Correspondent Week by discussing all things Everton including interest in their FPL assets, particularly the defensive one's. The Toffees go into this season having had two attempted club Takeovers collapse and it's to be their final campaign at Goodison Park. What would constitute making their final season at their current home a success? Does it need to be more than just survival? There will be interest in Everton defensive assets but Jordan Pickford, Jarrod Branthwaite and James Tarkowski are now 5.0. Should managers look at a 4.5 alternative for coverage? Brentford fan Tom Medd joins James to discuss The Bees ahead of the new season including whether we should expect more from a club who suffered badly with injuries. But the injuries look like they may persist with new signing Igor Thiago out injured until the winter and with major problems persisting at full-back. Will Ivan Toney stay or go? That's the major headline into The Bees season but if he stays will he even start in Gameweek 1? Bryan Mbeumo is currently an attractive differential in FPL, but FPL managers may be put off by Brentford's three challenging away trips inside the first five gameweeks; and Tom wants to make the case for a different attacker from the club. And Mark Flekken is currently the most owned 4.5 keeper but could his position in the team be under threat and do any of the 4.5 defenders at the club offer a better or safer alternative? It's a Correspondent Week debut for Ipswich Town and Paul Gaught-Allen, who joins James to discuss everything about last season's Championship runners-up, including Kieran McKenna's crucial decision to stay as manager and whether surviving this season is a realistic aim following back to back promotions. Paul details what we can expect from McKenna tactically and that includes an advanced role for 4.5 left-back Leif Davis who notched a record number of Championship assists for a defender last season. But with every other Town defender priced at 4.0 is Davis worth the extra? And who's best from those 4.0s? Omari Hutchinson has signed on a permanent deal from Chelsea and has interest at 5.5, but there may be other attacking talents that appeal more from within the club. There's an outline of the current anticipated starting eleven and where the club is likely to invest further in the team and squad plus there's discussion on FPL's two most expensive players, Mo Salah and Erling Haaland, who are set to play The Tractor Boys in the first two Gameweeks. On Clash of the Correspondents James is joined by Manchester United fan Gary Robinson and Newcastle fan Simon Bibby to discuss the latest at their clubs ahead of their meeting at Old Trafford next Wednesday which is part of a Double Gameweek for both clubs. For the Red Devils morale appears to be on the floor following Monday's heavy loss at Crystal Palace with some now suggesting Erik Ten Hag shouldn't even make it as far as the Manchester FA Cup Final. Can The Dutchman stay in the job into next season? There's discussion on Manchester United's attempts to take Newcastle's Sporting Director Dan Ashworth and if it signals any concerns about Newcastle's longer-term plan. Is there also a need to sell one of their star players to comply with PSR? James is joined by Leicester City correspondent Aaron Lagor following the Foxes crowning as Championship Champions that means they will be making an immediate return to the Premier League under the stewardship of Enzo Maresca. There's discussion on how The Foxes did it, Maresca's philosophy and tactics which naturally has parallels with that of Pep Guardiola, whom Maresca was previously assistant to at Manchester City. There's an overview of the squad which includes some early thoughts on who may appeal to FPL managers next season and that could include the Championship goalkeeper of the season, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and a 37 year-old Jamie Vardy who is still going strong. But there are concerns, with the season rumoured to be set to begin with a points deduction due to failures to meet PSR requirements and therefore spending may be limited and sales shouldn't necessarily be ruled out either. On Clash of the Correspondents it's a meeting of the black and whites as James is joined by Fulham fan Dara Curran and Newcastle fan Simon Bibby to discuss the latest at their clubs ahead of Saturday's meeting at Craven Cottage. Both clubs have had troubles on the road this season as seen again this week with Fulham, who followed some brilliant victories by conceding six across two games at Sheffield United and Nottingham Forest. So they'll be pleased to be at home this weekend against a Newcastle side who have also struggled on the road. Does that mean a home win is likely with the Fulham frontline likely to be spearheaded again by the in-form Rodrigo Muniz against a Newcastle side that is again suffering through injuries defensively? There's discussion on the FPL relevant assets of interest including Muniz and other Fulham players that managers may own, plus the all important Newcastle assets who have a great run of fixtures that leads towards their double in the penultimate gameweek of 37. It's a late Sunday night Podcast for Suj and James to discuss all the fallout from Gameweek 30 ahead of the quick turnaround for Tuesday's Gameweek 31 deadline. There's FPL relevant discussion on every club with many managers planning their routes towards either Gameweek 34 or 37 but many may be hampered again by a sea of flags and that includes to popular Chelsea and Newcastle assets that may make life difficult for current Wildcarders. James is joined by Wolves fan Bradley Parker and Manchester United fan Gary Robinson to discuss the latest at their clubs and preview next Thursday's GW22 meeting between the clubs at Molineux. Wolves were the only side to win at 3 games in the Premier League over the festive period and Monday's hard fought draw at Brighton meand spirits remain high ahead of the visit of United; but how much of a distraction is Sunday's crunch Black Country Derby against rivals West Bromwich Albion in the FA Cup? For United, their inconsistencies continue, with a good performance of ten followed by a bad one. There's discussion on what's INEOS investment might change and whether Erik Ten Hag is likely to remain manager beyond this campaign. Plus, FPL chat with talking points including best Wolves attacking asset, Rayan Ait-Nouri's bonus return from AFCON, Rasmus Hojlund prospects, plus an overview of United's midfield assets. On Clash of the Correspondents James is joined by Bournemouth fan Neil Grover and Liverpool fan Dan Lord to discuss the latest at their clubs and preview the GW21 encounter on the South coast. Bournemouth have been on a terrific run under Andoni Iraola led by popular FPL pick and talisman Dominic Solanke, can they keep it going and trouble a Liverpool team that top the table but have now lost Mo Salah to AFCON? There's discussion on best FPL assets from both clubs, particularly in the midfield area, thoughts on holding or investing in Trent Alexander-Arnold long-term, GW21 captaincy, the rotation of Liverpool's forwards and lots more. James is joined on Clash of the Correspondents by Chelsea fan Gary Mantle and Sheffield United fan Ben 'Tommo' Thompson to discuss the latest at their clubs and preview Saturday's meeting at Stamford Bridge in GW17. For Chelsea fans, frustration with manager Mauricio Pochettino is beginning to grow following defeats at Manchester United and Everton but much of the anger may also be heading towards the owners, who could well spend big again (!) in the January transfer window. For Sheffield United, Paul Heckingbottom has departed, replaced by former favourite Chris Wilder, but has everyone welcomed him back with open arms? And there's discussion on why this Wilder version of The Blades, so far, looks different to what had been expected. Plus, this was meant to be when FPL managers steamed in to Chelsea assets. The prospects of Cole Palmer and Raheem Sterling are discussed, but are they short term picks? And can any of the defensive players be trusted to do well? And Saturday's opponents should not be overlooked either with 5 genuine enabling options worth considering, including Saturday's matchwinner James McAtee. Ahead of tonight's GW15 Deadline it's a top 4 Clash of the Correspondents as James is joined by Aston Villa fan Lee Jackson and Manchester City fan Jonny Pringle to discuss the latest at their clubs and preview the Wednesday night meeting at Villa Park. Villa could go above City with victory and then face Arsenal next, could they mount an unlikely title challenge if this week goes well? But it's been 3 consecutive draws for City in which they led in each game. Is this a bump in the road or should we be concerned about City's form? There's FPL chat on Villa assets ahead of the all important Blank Gameweek 18 featuring discussion on Matty Cash, Moussa Diaby and Ollie Watkins in particular. While for City, following the trip to Villa their fixture schedule is extremely attractive, but they don't play in the Blank. There's coverage on Erling Haaland, Julian Alvarez, Phil Foden and if any of the defensive assets can be considered. Plus, with Jack Grealish and crucially Rodri suspended for Wednesday's game, are City in for a rough night on Wednesday? James is joined by Nottingham Forest fan Mark Sutherns and Everton fan Sean Norton to discuss all the latest at their clubs and preview the Saturday night meeting between the two at the City Ground in GW14. The Podcast begins by covering Everton's point discussion with Sean given the opportunity to cover the mood and opinion from the Everton perspective on the punishment given to The Toffees and whether they are still likely to avoid relegation despite the deduction. Forest have a good run of fixtures which includes a Blank GW18 meeting with Bournemouth and there are defensive and offensive enablers that can be considered for FPL managers and Mark has some interesting words on Morgan Gibbs-White and how he may fare in the absence of talisman Taiwo Awoniyi. But is Steve Cooper under increasing pressure...? And for Everton, Dominic Calvert-Lewin is fit, while Jarrod Branthwaite and Abdoulaye Doucoure may also be worth consideration for an Everton team that now know every game takes on increased importance. James is joined this week on Clash of the Correspondents by Brighton fan Sam Murray and Sheffield United fan Ben 'Tommo' Thompson ahead of Sunday's GW12 meeting at The Amex. The Seagulls have gone 5 Premier League games without victory, is the distraction of the Europa League and dream ties such as tonight's trip to Amsterdam proving to distracting on a squad that is beginning to be stretched by injuries? The Blades finally recorded their first victory on Saturday against Wolves, could this be the start of a run despite being written off by most neutrals? And can they frustrate Brighton at the weekend? Plus, key FPL assets discussed, such as Kaoru Mitoma and Simo Adingra, Blades enablers George Baldock and 'trampoline' Cameron Archer.
