Vicky Gomersall is joined by Charlie Wyett, Jonathan Northcroft and The Athletic’s Jack Pitt-Brooke to reflect on the weekend’s sporting action. We begin with looking at the pressure Ange Postecoglou is under. Jonathan questions whether Forest are worried about league position and want solidity. Charlie is surprised some of the fans have turned on Ange already. What’s gone so wrong for Ange? We then turn to England news, firstly to Jude Bellingham and the criticism he has received for his lack of presence with the press; Charlie questions whether he would be a good future England Captain but considers Declan Rice a better candidate. Then to Elliot Anderson, and Jack praises how natural he looks in a position so important to Tuchel’s side ahead of the World Cup. And on the UEFA committee’s meeting to revive interest in the International break, we ask whether the no-jeopardy games are too boring. We also look at The Telegraph’s story that Strasbourg have turned into a Chelsea feeder-club. Jonathan explains the fans’ reason to protest; how multi-club ownership can affect the lesser clubs involved and how the fans believe their identity is being diluted. Next, news that Barcelona want to sign Marcus Rashford on a permanent deal; Jonathan believes £25m is a great price in today’s market for the Spanish side, but bad-selling business from Man United. We move on to Mo Salah’s current form; Jack considers last season’s Liverpool playing to Salah’s strengths, whilst this year transitioning with Slot’s new signings and tactics. We then explore the story that Europe’s elite clubs answer to nobody as they carve up football’s billions. Jonathan criticises the distribution of funds, with £6billion coming in for Champions League sides, but lesser clubs not getting parity with very little filtering down to clubs missing out. And finally, we conclude this week’s pod on a sombre note, with the sad news that England Rugby star Lewis Moody is diagnosed with Motor Neuron Disease. Running Order: 3mins – Ange Under Pressure 20mins – England News 38mins – Downside of Multi-Club Ownership 42mins – Rashford permanent Barca deal? 57mins – Europe’s elite clubs carve up football’s billions 61mins – Lewis Moody diagnosed with MND Sunday Supplement is a Sky Sports podcast. As men’s football heads into its first international break of the season, Musa and Ryan chat about Liverpool’s 1-0 win over Arsenal at Anfield, thanks to an unbelievable Dominik Szoboszlai free-kick (04:57). With Alexander Isak and Marc Guéhi set to be announced as new signings too, it was a very super Sunday for Arne Slot and his team. They wrap up the rest of the Premier League, including wins for Brighton over Man City, Bournemouth's win at Spurs plus big wins for Palace and West Ham. It's then onto the Bundesliga, as Erik ten Tag was sacked by Bayer Leverkusen after just three games in charge (29:56). Ryan was also at St. Pauli's win in the Hamburg derby on Friday (37:13) and Dortmund’s win over Union on Sunday, so there’s a load of chat from the German top flight, before rounding up some other goings on in Ligue 1, Serie A, La Liga and more! Dharmesh Sheth is joined by The Times’ Alyson Rudd, The Sun’s Charlie Wyatt and Football Journalist Julien Laurens to reflect on the weekend’s sporting action. We begin with Man United, and Alyson isn’t impressed at how challenging Amorim’s side found it at home to Burnley. Charlie considers the situation a shambles and Julien believes Amorim doesn’t have the personality to succeed. Next to Nicolas Jackson, who looked to be getting a dream move to Bayern Munich, until Liam Delap got injured. David Ornstein comes on to the pod and considers whether Chelsea will sign another striker, or use Jackson as their striker this season. Then to talk last minute transfer news, and Keith Downie reports on Yoane Wissa’s statement to force Newcastle move. Julien thinks the price tag is a big ask from Brentford and Charlie questions Wissa’s professionalism. Later in the pod, we return to Manchester United and we're joined by Samuel Luckhurst from the Manchester Evening News, who fills us in on the latest situation with Ruben Amorim. Sam thinks Amorim may have underestimated the size of the job at Man United but believes he will still be in charge for the Manchester derby. Finally, we look at the VAR controversy robbing teenager Josh King of the opening goal in the West London derby against Chelsea. Alyson is stern in her view that there was no foul and that the decision goes against the spirit of VAR Running Order: 4mins United’s Struggles 17mins Ornstein on Jackson 36mins Wissa forces Newcastle move 49mins Amorim’s future 65mins VAR Controversy Sunday Supplement is a Sky Sports podcast. Jimbo's got Natalie Gedra, Jay Harris and Dom Fifield along for the ride as we look ahead to Matchday 2 in the Premier League - and discuss some rather hefty transfer news that might have caught your eye... That's right - it looks like Tottenham have been gazumped to the signing of Eberechi Eze by their old friends Arsenal... yikes! So does this mean that the Gunners really do have all the tools to win the Premier League? And what sort of Tottenham will turn up at Manchester City - with Pep's side having won just 1 of their last 4 against the visitors at the Etihad?! All that plus big waterslides, calamitous defending at Ibrox and a potentially sticky start to life at Hill Dickinson Stadium for the Toffees. Produced by Charlie Jones and Lucy Oliva.
