News linked to manager Thomas Tuchel

Welcome back to Stick to Football, brought to you by Sky Bet This week, Jamie Carragher returns to join Gary Neville, Roy Keane, Jill Scott, and Ian Wright - as we celebrate winning Best YouTube Channel at the Sports Journalism Awards. Your support has been incredible, and we couldn’t have done it without you! Jamie shares what he’s been up to, including a trip to Malta to watch his son represent the national team. The team then turn their attention to one of the biggest potential transfer deals of the coming months: Trent Alexander-Arnold to Real Madrid. Jamie shares his thoughts on what it would mean for Trent’s legacy at Anfield, while Gary questions whether a switch to La Liga would suit TAA's style of play. The team discuss the start of Thomas Tuchel’s tenure as England manager. Who has impressed and who has struggled in his first two games in charge? One of the biggest concerns remains Phil Foden, with so much talent, what does it take to unlock his full potential in an England shirt? We also welcome Roy’s daughter, Caragh, who's made a new cereal brand - designed to support an anti-inflammatory lifestyle. Thomas Tuchel’s first international break as England manager is over. He’s given us two “professional” wins against inferior opposition and some chat about maybe playing 4-4-2. Tuchel issues Bellingham discipline challenge to harness England star's qualities Pulse Sports Nigeria

Thomas Tuchel had a dig at Gareth Southgate, claiming England played with no identity last summer, more focused on avoiding elimination than chasing glory. Ouch. Thomas Tuchel’s first England squad selection has raised a few eyebrows, most notably the inclusion of both Jordan Henderson and Kyle Walker. During media duties this week, the England manager put an emphasis on physicality and pressing, a tactic not commonly associated with international football. He also voiced that he felt England were more afraid to drop out of Euro 2024 than having the hunger and excitement to win it. So is Tuchel's first squad a step forward or step back, and can his more proactive style of management win England the World Cup? Host: Matt Davies-Adams With: Jack Pitt-Brooke, Tim Spiers Executive Producer: Adey Moorhead Producer: Jay Beale Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Jimbo is joined in the studio by Duncan Alexander, Jack Lang and Tom Williams on that most blessed of occasions - international week. Thomas Tuchel gets ready for his first game as England manager in World Cup qualifying and we’re all very impressed with how he’s handled the media so far. The Nations League quarter-finals see Germany win in Italy and Croatia overcome France thanks to another ridiculously good Luke Modric performance. Belgium lose a 4th game in a row in what was Rudi Garcia’s 4th match in charge. Which makes us wonder why French managers aren’t coaching at elite club level anymore? Brazil leap up the table in CONMEBOL qualifying thanks to a dramatic late win over Colombia. Plus trademark celebrations, CONCACAF Nations League drama and Quenda we get to see Chelsea’s new signing? Produced by Charlie Jones. What a week it has been for Newcastle defender Dan Burn! In this episode of 'One on One', Juliette Ferrington went to his hometown of Blyth to meet up with the 32 year old, with neither knowing what was going to happen eight days later on Friday 14th March, when he was called up to the England squad by Thomas Tuchel. Two days after that, he became the first Newcastle United man to score in a Cup Final since 1976. The stuff of fairytales! However, as we find out, it's not always been easy for Burn - from dealing with rejection and playing non-league, to having his confidence shot as he made his way back to Newcastle in the Premier League. Adam Hurrey is joined on the Adjudication Panel by Charlie Eccleshare and David Walker. Meanwhile, the panel laud Thomas Tuchel's response to the now-traditional questions about singing the national anthem and hear news of a welcome development for generic match balls in the film industry. David Jones presents Saturday Night Football alongside Jamie Redknapp and Theo Walcott who analyse Arsenal’s 2-0 defeat to Bournemouth which sees their unbeaten start to the season come to an end. The visitors’ efforts were not helped by William Saliba receiving a red card for denying a goalscoring opportunity in the first half. There is reaction from both dressing rooms with goalscorer Ryan Christie revealing he was delighted to get on the scoresheet after not doing so for a long time. A deflated Declan Rice said that there were no complaints about the result but insisted they cannot keep making mistakes. Mikel Arteta also reflected on the disappointing defeat by saying that two big errors cost him and his players.
