Aston Villa v Leeds | CotC with Lee Jackson & Ed Salinger | Planet FPL 2025/26

James welcomes Aston Villa fan Lee Jackson and Leeds United fan Ed Salinger on to Clash of the Correspondents ahead of the meeting between the two clubs at Villa Park on Saturday. The title may look beyond Villa, but there's still plenty to play for as they try and hold on to a Champions League qualification spot and they will fancy their chances of going deep in the Europa League too. While for Leeds, despite sitting 15th and only 6 points above West Ham, the general consensus seems to be that they'll be fine after sustained period of positive results and performances. All the key FPL assets covered including defensive assets from both, Morgan Rogers, and Dominic Calvert-Lewin. And there's plenty of reason to be interested in their assets, Villa have Wolves after Leeds and Leeds themselves have a great run beginning from GW29. Infact, from now until the end of the season, Villa and Leeds sit as the top two on James' fuxture difficulty ticker! Tomorrow on Planet FPL: Ask James, scheduled for 1pm GMT on YouTube with an audio posted shortly after conclusion Today on Patreon: Tot & Ham (IT+) & Talking Tactics (AT & IT+) The full Planet FPL schedule for this week can be found via this post: https://www.patreon.com/posts/150897034 Want to become a member of our FPL community and support the Podcast? USMNT No. 9 Debate? Balogun, Wright, Agyemang & the World Cup Fit

Tab Ramos and Matt Doyle break down the USMNT depth chart at the No. 9 position. With Haji Wright coming off a hat-trick and Patrick Agyemang reaching double-digit goals in the Championship, they analyze how each striker fits into Mauricio Pochettino’s system along with Folarin Balogun and Ricardo Pepi — both for the upcoming March friendlies and the 2026 World Cup. Doyle unveils his projected Starting XI for the friendlies, while Tab explains the potential role Noahkai Banks could play for the national team moving forward. The episode also features an in-depth tactical discussion focused on the partnerships and positional balance that could define the U.S. team’s World Cup success. Weston McKennie continues to redefine versatility for Juventus, this time deployed as a false nine. Is there anything he can’t do?! With the MLS season kicking off, attention turns stateside. Chips & Strategy Continued | Planet FPL S. 9 Ep. 40 | Fantasy Premier League

Following the weekend' FA Cup football and last night's 5th round draw Suj and James revaluate the outlook for Chip usage for the rest of the season, and though current projections remain unchanged there's lots that could change in the coming weeks and that may force many FPL managers to move away from the current template strategy. What will happen to the Manchester City v Crystal Palace fixture? Could Gameweek 33 be the only remaining Double Gameweek? Should Bench Boost be used now or held for later? It's all covered, including alternative 'out' chip strategies if at short notice Gameweek 32 would look bad for a Wildcard followed by a Gameweek 33 Bench Boost, why certain fixtrures could be forced into certain weeks, if non European teams could have postponements go into random weeks and more, including why the next big event that could alter the landscape is the scheded April TV selections... It was a short offseason, which is always great because it means you've had a great previous year! The Whitecaps return to competitive action this week with two matches in two competitions. How ready are they? Head coach Jesper Sorensen shares some thoughts on the preseason prep, players' availability, and we preview the CONCACAF Champions Cup first round first leg match-up against Cartagines in Costa Rica. Our feature interview this week is with one of the newest Whitecaps, American attacker Aziel Jackson. Turf Wars Part One: The Making of ‘Hooligan’

Welcome to It Was What It Was, the football history podcast. In this first part of a two-part special on football hooliganism, co-hosts Jonathan Wilson and Rob Draper are joined by special guest Cass Pennant - former West Ham United Inter City Firm member who later became an author and film producer. They discuss director Ian Stuttard (known as “Butch”) and his 1985 groundbreaking documentary 'Hooligan', which challenged the stereotype of hooligans. Cass explains how Stuttard earned access by spending months with the ICF without a camera, building trust, and later filming from inside the action. The episode also covers the Thatcher-era context, the film’s controversial release and its wider impact on how 'firms' were understood. We finish the episode with Cass reflecting on Stuttard’s wider documentary career, their later partnership in a production company, and Stuttard’s lasting legacy. Derby d’Italia drama and Igor Tudor to Spurs

The Derby d’Italia this weekend felt crucial in the race for this year’s Scudetto. Musa and Ryan chat about Inter leaving it late to beat Juventus (05:03), who were down to ten for the entire second half at San Siro, after a very controversial second yellow for Pierre Kalulu. It took a brilliant winner from Piotr Zieliński to win the game and send Inter eight points clear of the top, thanks to Napoli’s draw with Roma. In the middle of all that, there’s a big detour about manager’s first touches and player showboating (17:39), before chatting about Igor Tudor becoming the Tottenham Hotspur men’s interim head coach (34:53). Finally, there’s a round-up (45:33) featuring La Liga, Bundesliga, FA Cup, a rare case of a spiritually onside goal actually counting and Mo Salah doing his bit for content.
