It was an unforgettable week for many FPL managers, and that included James, whose bench boost went bust with three no shows, but a score of 99 still meant a big jump inside the top 10k. For Suj it was a bit more forgettable. Infact, the only good news was a defeat for Nottingham Forest at Brighton, as Suj's West Ham and James' Tottenham once again fell to defeats. Those defeats feature in a review of all the games from a weekend that featured high drama, many popular FPL assets returning big, others including Erling Haaland no showing and now many are faced with multiple flags in their team, at a period where many may have wanted to roll transfers. So now what ahead of the quick turnaround before GW29!? Jimbo, Daniel Storey, Seb Stafford-Bloor and Matt Davies-Adams react to another pulsating Premier League weekend. On Clash of the Correspondents James is joined by Liverpool fan Dan Lord and West Ham fan Chris Stone to discuss the latest at their clubs ahead of Saturday's meeting at Anfield which could have big implications at both ends of the table. Liverpool are hoping to secure Champions League qualification for next season and consecutive 1-0 away wins has them in contention to do so, but could they be distracted by other Cup commitments? West Ham remain 18th, but have lost one in six and have Nottingham Forest and Tottenham in their sights, there's discussion on the battle to stay up and what The Hammers may need to escape - and there is reason from both perspectives to suggest in the immediate West Ham could cause a surprise on Saturday. Plus, all the key FPL assets covered, with Liverpool very much on mind with a great immediate run of fixtures. There's coverage on Virgil Van Dijk, Ibrahima Konate, Dominik Szoboszlai, Florian Wirtz, Mo Salah and Hugo Ekitike. But FPL managers would be well advised to keep Hammers assets on mind, with Mads Hermansen, El Hadji Malick Diouf, Matheus Fernandes, Crysensio Summerville and Jarrod Bowen all giving reason to monitor. Suj and James fared very differently again in FPL in GW27 as clean sheets were bust, well owned players flopped but one hauler for James in Nico O'Reilly made the difference; but there is no doubt as James even concedes, that there was big slice of luck that he even still owned him. That was the highlight of a weekend for James, which ended with another North London Derby humbling as Tottenham continue to look nervously over their shoulder at West Ham and Nottingham Forest, who both failed to score but were unlucky to do so. There's a much promised look at Rayan and comparison to other midfielders in a similiar price bracket. Bournemouth along with Brentford, Fulham and Liverpool assets are likely to be popular this week, should Arsenal players be binned despite Sunday's comfortable win, Chelsea's brilliant fixture run is over and they slipped up against Burnley, should their assets including the in-form Joao Pedro be moved on too? All the games covered, the OOP not called O'Reilly catching the eye despite a blank and lots more... Jimbo has Daniel Storey, Tom Williams and Colin Millar for company after another weekend of pure Premier League drama. Arsenal get back to winning ways with Eberechi Eze returning to haunt Spurs again in the North London derby. Igor Tudor’s new side now sit 4 points above the relegation zone. Which means West Ham’s draw with Bournemouth closes the gap between 17th and 18th to just points. There are currently no points separating 4th, 5th and 6th after Chelsea drop points again at home to Burnley. Matt Woosnam joins us to outline Oliver Glasner’s future at Palace after the toxicity between the fans and the Eagles head coach increases. Rob Jones is joined by Jacqui Oatley, Jonathan Northcroft and Julien Laurens to reflect on the weekend’s sporting action. We kick off with Newcastle’s 3-1 win over Aston Villa in the FA Cup. Is Jonathan harsh to suggest the refereeing decisions in this game were some of the worst you’ll see? Next to Murrayfield, where a rejuvenated Scotland swept England aside with a 31-20 Calcutta Cup win, leaving any grand slam hopes for Steve Borthwick’s side gone. Also, we look at Manchester City’s 2–0 win over Salford, and we assess Phil Foden’s performance, considering whether he’s done enough to secure his place in the World Cup squad this summer. Then, Nottingham Forest: four managers in one season. We unpack Marinakis’ trigger-happy approach and the chaos of constantly changing managerial styles. Finally, Mansfield’s memorable night at Turf Moor, coming from behind to defeat Burnley. We examine Scott Parker’s controversial team changes and discuss what this result means for the Burnley manager moving forward. Sunday Supplement is a Sky Sports podcast.
