The new MLS season is underway. Vancouver Whitecaps maybe started it somewhat underwhelmingly with a 3-2 loss at home to Minnesota United, but there's a long road ahead. Football in the snow conjures up some fantastic images. Orange balls. Sliding tackles. Cleared lines marked on pitches. It's the end of the season and the end of an, albeit short, era as Vancouver Whitecaps 2018 MLS season came to an end on Sunday and Alphonso Davies said goodbye to the club, the fans, and the city as he gets set to head off to Europe to join Bayern Munich. Just like a never ending game of snakes and ladders, Vancouver Whitecaps got themselves off a two match slippery slope, finding a rung to take their trajectory upwards again in a match between two teams that feel like they would struggle to find consistency in the dictionary.
