Suj and James look at possibilities for those on Wildcard now with James having several drafts prepared, looking at both targeting a Bench Boost in GW32 and GW33, what difference aiming to Free Hit in GW33 would make, what planning to Free Hit in GW33 might change and there's also coverage of what those without a Free Hit may want to do and includes a set up that makes a Bench Boost viable. Many of the drafts discussed look similar and there will be some groupthink at play with Crystal Palace and Manchester City playing teams in the bottom three and now projected to Double in 33, but there is a repeated warning that the projections may be wrong. Does the front 3 pick itself? Newcastle assets are covered, Cole Palmer v Bukayo Saka and lots more. It's West v North London on Clash of the Correspondents this week as James is joined by Chelsea fan Gary Mantle and Tottenham Hotspur fan Ricky Saunders to discuss managers, expectations and FPL ahead of next Thursday's GW30 meeting at Stamford Bridge. Both managers are under scrutiny with Chelsea fans seemingly split at the moment on Enzo Maresca, with form inconsistent, and qualification for next season's Champions League in the balance. And is it win the Europa League or bust for Ange Postecoglu? It's beginning to feel like it might be. That makes investment in Tottenham players in FPL awkward with the Europa clearly the priority, but with many FPL managers set to Wildcard in GW31 and with Tottenham then facing Southampton and Wolves is there something that can be punted on? There's coverage of Chelsea assets too, with their next 3 looking good for the potential the attacking players, but Christopher Nkunku remains inconsistent, Nicolas Jackson has been a huge miss, and Cole Palmer hasn't scored since Jackson got injured. Is Palmer's injury and form cause for genuine concern? On Clash of the Correspondents James is joined by Brighton fan Sam Murray and Aston Villa fan Lee Jackson, with both teams still in the FA Cup, competing for a Champions League place and both could have a Double in Gameweek 33. And for Villa they have a Champions League Quarter Final which makes their FPL assets particular difficult to assess with a juicy fixture at Southampton between the games with PSG. And Brighton could well appeal then to as they host Leicester, but are they liable for rotation too. There's coverage of defensive assets from both, the likes of Yankubah Minteh, Kaoru Mitoma, Marco Asensio and Marcus Rashford, plus talismen Joao Pedro and Ollie Watkins as well as the seemingly rotation proof Morgan Rogers. All games covered including Bruno Fernandes' haul in Manchester United's victory at woeful Leicester, it was Anthony Elanga rather than Chris Wood who went big as Forest also won well on the road, Brighton were unfortunate not to take all 3 points from Manchester City and Brentford produced perhasp the surprise of the weekend, with victory at Bournemouth. On Clash of the Correspondents ahead of the Blank James is joined by Bournemouth fan Neil Grover and Brentford fan Tom Medd to discuss the latest at their clubs and some very important Fantasy assets ahead of a fixture where goals are expected again! For both free hitters and those looking to invest you can make a case for more than half the Bournemouth team to be of interest, from Kepa in goal to Dean Huijsen at the back, Milos Kerkez at left-back, a returning Evanilson, Marcus Tavernioer, Antoine Semenyo and Justin Kluivert may even become the captaincy pick of choice for many as we head towards deadline. But where does that leave Dango Ouattara owners? And are consistent Brentford being overlooked with their own attacking players of interest in Bryan Mbeumo and Yoane Wissa, plus enablers such as the underrated Mikkel Damsgaard and the pacey Kevin Schade? After all, The Bees who were so strong at home are now putting strong results on the board on the road, even if it may have much to do with the flip in their fixtures. And Bournemouth can dare to dream big about qualifying for Europe and whta might might achievable in the FA Cup. Suj and James review the weekend of Gameweek 28 where there was more heartbreak for those who gambled on Cole Palmer again as the Chelsea talisman missed his first penalty of his professional career, whilst Mo Salah converted two penalties of his own to break the FPL points scoring record despite still having nine games to play! But FPL managers won't be captaining Salah this week with Liverpool among four teams who blank this week and much of the focus of the Podcast is towards decision making for the Blank coming up, and for some that may mean even selling Salah to fund a move for Erling Haaland. But is Haaland even the best captain this week!? City were being beaten again, this time at Nottingham Forest and Chris Wood may even be the EO play this week as Nuno's Champions League chasing team travel to Ipswich. All the games reviewed, including discussion on Arsenal's draw at Manchester United which surely means the title is heading to Anfield; Bournemouth's outstanding showing at White Hart Lane only earned them a point; while Aston Villa and Brighton also kept themselves in contention for a top 5 finish; and Wolves without Matheus Cunha also edged a point closer to safety Tomorrow on Planet FPL: Clash of the Correspondents, Bournemouth v Brentford with Neil Grover and Tom Medd Today on Patreon: The Q'N'A (IT+) and Nico's Corner (AT) For the full Planet FPL schedule this week, including our offering on Patreon view this post: https://www.patreon.com/posts/schedule-march-124031506 Want to become a member of our FPL community and support the Podcast? On Clash of the Correspondents James is joined by Wolves fan Bradley Parker and Everton fan Sean Norton to discuss the latest at their clubs and FPL interest in some of their assets ahead of the Saturday night meeting at Molineux. Matheus Cunha was going to be all the rage for FPL managers but now those who may have been ahead of the curve must sell with the Brazilian talisman set for a lengthy suspension. Could the returning Jorgen Strand Larsen offer a solution for FPL managers? Or might the best replacement be with opponents Everton with forward Beto and The Toffees finding form under David Moyes, They are well clear of danger now, but that Cunha suspension may have Wolves fans looking nervously over their shoulders again. It's a Championship Clash of the Correspondents as James catches up with Burnley fan Jack Toner and Luton Town fan Dan Ashby to discuss veryt differing fortunes for two clubs who were in the Premier League last season. Burnley are third with promotion in sight and have a barely believable defensive record having only conceded 9 goals in 34 league games. But do the underlying numbers suggest this is unsustainable? Are Burnley fans in support of what Scott Parker is trying to do? Meanwhile Luton are 3rd from bottom and would have been 24th if not for Saturday's win against Portsmouth. James is joined by Clayton on the Gameweek Review Podcast to discuss the events of the midweek of Gameweek 27 where somehow, those who gambled on Cole Palmer with the captaincy were not rewarded... but it didn't matter that much anyway. So Palmer again in 28 with an insipid Leicester next? Maybe not with Mo Salah facing Southampton, or could The Reds rotate with the fixture falling in between their Champions League games with PSG? All the games covered including Arsenal drawing blanks again at Forest and Man City seeing off Tottenham in a game of two halves at White Hart Lane where Erling Haaland registered the only goal. Is there a case to take Salah on with the big Norweigian from Gameweek 29 onwards? Perhaps so, and there is plenty of discussion around the Blank of Gameweek 29 and how to manage players subject to chosen strategy, with key assets from the likes of City, Bournemouth, Palace and Wolves all covered in detail. Ahead of today's GW27 Deadline James is joined on Clash of the Correspondents by Manchester United fan Gary Robinson and Ipswich Town fan Paul Gaught-Allen to discuss current matters at their clubs ahead of Wednesday's meeting at Old Trafford. Can Ipswich yet pull off an escape from the relegation zone? They find themselves five points adrift of Wolves and with no one else within sight. Ipswich's plight means Manchester United can feel safe. Yes, really it has looked that bad at times recently. Ruben Amorim still hasn't won more points than Erik Ten Hag in this campaign and there are several cost cutting measures taking place behind the scenes and PSR is likely to restrict them in the transfer market in the summer. So where do United go from here? Investing in someone like Ipswich's Liam Delap doesn't even seem like a realistic prospect currently. And should there be interest in these two clubs for Fantasy managers? Ipswich have Delap and some enablers that could prove useful, Whilst United head into this encounter and also face fellow strugglers Leicester in the Blank of Gameweek 29. But can they be trusted? Suj and James review all the football from Gameweek 26 with Liverpool now huge favourites for the title, as victory at Manchester City followed Arsenal's defeat to West Ham, and Wolves too a huge step to safety with victory at ten man Bournemouth. Whilst there was FPL controversy before the football even began with FPL missing their own deadline, meaning they've now missed more deadlines this season than Suj! There was more success for many who chased bonus with the Assistant Manager Chip, there's discussion on what next for those who still have the Chip active and this midweek's captaincy dilemma of Cole Palmer, who has hapless Southampton, or Mo Salah, who now has more points in away games than any other player has in all games, following yet another double digit return. There's coverage of transfer plans with decisions made and differentials targeted, plus analysis of all the games as usual, including Brentford cruising to victory at Leicester, healing Tottenham winning again and the 7 goal thriller between Newcastle and Nottingham Forest. On Clash of the Correspondents James is joined by Fulham fan Lewis James and Crystal Palace fan Ruaidhri McLoughlin-Dowd to discuss the latest at their clubs and some very important FPL assets ahead of Saturday's meeting at Craven Cottage. And by assets that doesn't just mean the players as Eagles boss Oliver Glasner is likely to be popular for Assistant Manager bonus point hunters and for those yet to deploy the Chip again he'll no doubt attract interest around GW32 when Palace double. But he's not been the best performing manager over the last couple of weeks as that honour goes to Saturday's opponent Marco Silva, as Fulham produced outstanding victories against Newcastle and Nottingham Forest that truly has them in contention for European qualification. Plus, those key FPL assets covered including Antonee Robinson, Kenny Tete's longer-term threat to Timothy Castagne; forwards Raul Jimenez and Jean-Phillipe Mateta, Dean Henderson, Ebe Eze, Ismaila Sarr and Daniel Munoz might not be the only Palace wing-back of interest in the weeks to come. Suj and James revisit a Podcast from 4 weeks ago deliberating which week would be best to Free Hit from the potential Blank Gameweeks of 29 and 34. There's discussion on considering the template, including the importance of Erling Haaland, and the fixtures before after GW29 when making a decision on whether to activate the Free Hit or run through the Gameweek, and that decision will need to be made without the picture for the Doubles of 33 and the Blanks of 34. There's a look at potential Free Hit Drafts for 29, 33 and 34 and James reiterates the script for the current projections and has warnings about how the weeks around the FA Cup Semi Finals may not be exactly what we think and how that can have big implications for Wildcarders looking to Bench Boost. And the consequence of the Newcastle v Crystal Palace arrangement for GW32 might not be as obvious for GW33 as it appears now. On the Gameweek 25 Review Podcast Suj and James discuss all the key FPL relevant info from the weekend which featured disappointment for many owning Aston Villa assets as they were held by ten man Ipswich, Manchester City's demolition of Newcastle featured a hat-trick from Omar Marmoush and Arsenal found someone who could play up front in an unlikely source as sub Mikel Merino. There's also reaction to Tottenham's victory against Manchester United in the battle of the underachievers, there was another limp display from Chelsea at Brighton which included a stunning goal for the hosts by Kaoru Mitoma, and Wolves made Liverpool sweat at Anfield. Plus, there's discussion on solutions next for those on the Assistant Manager Chip and some of the consequences from the announcement of Newcastle and Crystal Palace being arranged for Gameweek 32, James contemplates switching Salah to Haaland in GW29, but will the Egyptian King still get the armband when the two clubs meet in GW26? On Clash of the Correspondents James is joined by Leicester City fan Sam Martin and Arsenal fan Adam Pritchard to discuss the altest at their clubs - and they include some major concerns - ahead of Saturday's meeting at The King Power Stadium. It looks like it's down to a 4 team race to survive at the bottom of the table and hopes Leicester may have had of a resurgence after victory at Tottenham were dampen by a chastening 4-0 defeat at Everton. Do they have what it takes to survive? And can Arsenal chase down Liverpool's lead at the top? The task looks tougher now with Kai Havertz confirmed likely to miss the rest of the season and Arsenal's attack now looks stretched to the limit for availability. Plus there's FPL discussion with Arsenal's Ethna Nwaneri likely to catch attention at a bottom price of 4.5, could the Gunners defence suffer as a consequence of their injury problems and there is one Leicester asset likely to catch the attention of some Fantasy managers for Gameweek 26. On Clash of the Correspondents James is joined by Manchester City fan Jonny Pringle and Newcastle fan Simon Bibby to discuss the latest at their clubs and the FPL assets within them ahead of Saturday's meeting at The Etihad. City assets will be popular once we get to Blank Gameweek 29 and they have great fixtures then until the end of the season. There's discussion on Erling Haaland, Phil Foden, Oscar Marmoush, Josko Gavrdiol and others. While for Newcastle the opposite is true, a tough run of fixtures begins now and they will almost certainly blank in Gameweek 29. Could Alexander Isak be a sacrifice on route? Could those that keep even consider benching this week!? There's also chat on Lewis Hall and with Anthony Gordon, yellow flagged, should be sold by Fantasy managers. On the second installment of Suj and James' Chip Strategy Podcasts there is analysis on how the outlook is projected to look moving forward for Blank and Double Gameweeeks following the weekend's FA Cup ties. With discussion on options and opportunities for usage of all the chips between now and the end of the season. The Pod begins with discussion on the FA Cup weekend with Tottenham and Ange Postecoglu now perhaps teetering on the brink after defeat at Aston Villa, but the big shock came at Home Park as Plymouth Argyle defeated a heavily rotated Liverpool - and by consequence the landscape for FPL managers has changed again. There's discussion on activating a Chip now, with Aston Villa and Liverpool about to Double, the importance of mainpulating Gameweeks 33 and 34 with many 33 doublers then likely to blank in 34 - but has it become easier to manage following Liverpool's elimination from the Cup!? Plus, the impact that the FA Cup and Europa League finals could still have, why GW36 could have doubles before GW37 blanks, but may also not have any doubles at all. There's a warning about Wildcarding following Blank Gameweek 29, the crazy potentail Assistant Manager big bonus opportunity available now, and consideration is given to preparing for the unexepected, particulary as the upcoming doubles in GW25 caught many by surprise. A very different Clash of the Correspondents this week, as rather than discussing an upcoming fixture James is joined by Wolves fan Bradley Parker and Aston Villa fan Lee Jackson to discuss their clubs following Wolves' 2-0 victory against Villa at Molineux at the weekend. It was a big win for Wolves, particularly following defeats earlier in the day for Ipswich and Leicester; but for Villa it was another disappointing result after a Champions League games which dents their hopes of trying to qualify again foe Europe's top competition. There's also Fantasy discussion with Wolves looking at a brilliant fixture swing in the near future en route to Blank Gameweek 29 and Villa could have a Double Gameweek in the forthcoming Gameweek 25. There's discussion on defensive assets and the likes of Matheus Cunha, Morean Rogers and Ollie Watkins. Suj and James review the weekend of Double Gameweek 24 that rewarded many that invested in doublers from Everton and Liverpool, which included those activating the Assistant Manager Chip on Arne Slot or David Moyes, but also those who held their nerve and activated the Triple Captaincy on Mohamed Salah who scored both in The Reds 2-0 victory at Bournemouth. Friday's announcement of at least one Double in Gameweek 25 has changed the landscape for FPL managers again and there's discussion on each of the 6 teams who could Double in 26 and the players that may well be sought under different permutations. But with the transfer window closing today and important Cup fixtures to be played before Gameweek 25 now is a good time for FPL managers to take stock and seek further information before acting. James' live stream is dominated with Chip questions following the Premier League's shock announcement today that the GW29 fixtures of Arsenal v Chelsea, Aston Villa v Liverpool and Fulham v Tottenham will be brought forward to GW25 in the event that they need to be postponed to accommodate a team playing in the Carabao Cup Final. James explains the possibilities and why this announcement could have a huge bearing on the future Double Gameweeks of 33 and 36. Plus, should those intending to Triple Captain Mo Salah now abort and play the Assistant Manager Chip instead? And if the do, should it be on Arne Slot or David Moyes? Plus, why possible Gameweek 25 doublers should be held, why it may now pay to wait on Bournemouth and Brentford assets rather than invest, benching dilemmas and lots more! West London meets East London on Clash of the Correspondents as James is joined by Chelsea fan Gary Mantle and West Ham fan Chris Stone to discuss the latest at their clubs ahead of Monday's Gameweek 24 meeting at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea's form has slumped below previous standards in recent weeks and they have gone from outsiders for the title to being caught in a multiple club race for Champions League qualification. Whilst West Ham have recently replaced Julen Lopetegiui with former Chelsea manager Graham Potter. There's discussion on Potter as a fit for The Hammers, whether he can improve their underwhelming season and if he should be judged at all on his tenture at Chelsea. Plus, key FPL discussion on Cole Palmer, Nicolas Jackson, defensive assets from both, if Lukasz Fabianski is likely to get his place back and the imminent return for The Hammers of a potentially explosive differential in Jarrod Bowen. *As discussed by Chris at the end of the Podcast, two accounts recommended to follow on the topic of Football Index: https://x.com/Zidave1 https://x.com/fi_action Follow Gary on Twitter/x: https://x.com/Phantomantle Follow Chris on Twitter/x: https://x.com/Fpl_SkyAddict Tomorrow on on Planet FPL: Ask James, live stream scheduled for 1pm GMT with an audio posted shortly after. Suj and James review a dramatic weekend in FPL as James played an accidental Free Hit, but at least went with Cody Gakpo who hauled ahead of Double Gameweek 24. A double that features a Merseyside Derby, so Everton assets appeal along with Reds players from across Stanley Park. But how good is this Liverpool double? They'll start against Bournemouth who are absolutely flying and walloped third placed Nottingham Forest 5-0; Justin Kluivert and Antoine Semenyo both scored again, but it was OOP Dango Ouattara who claimed the match ball this time. There's discussion on Arne Slot Assistant Manager versus Mo Salah Triple Captaincy, how Trent Alexander-Arnold purred against Ipswich on Saturday and what to do if managers feel like they've picked the wrong Liverpool assets. Plus, as usual all the games reviewed, including coverage of the tactics in Manchester City's victory against Chelsea, the Myles Lewis-Skelly red card controversy in Arsenal's victory at Wolves and what now for Ange Postecoglu, following another disaster for Tottenham, as they were beaten at home by struggling Leicester?
