Quiet weekend, wasn't it? Kris and Phil look back over a sometimes baffling week, in which both PSGs can thank the away goals rule for their progression to the Champions League semi-finals - the men after a 1-0 loss to Bayern Munich at the Parc des Prince, the women after knocking out seven-time trophy winners Lyon with a 2-1 away win. As well as that there were a couple of five-goal thrillers featuring very late winners in Ligue 1, as Kris' Lorient succumbed to OM at the Velodrome 3-2 with a double from Pol Lirola cancelling out ditto from Terem Moffi, and PSG v Saint-Etienne being probably the most exciting last 15 minutes of the season ending in a 96th minute winner from Mauro Icardi as the hosts also won 3-2. We have a midweek Coupe de France round for the quarter-finals and an interesting weekend coming up which finishes with Lyon v Lille in a key game for the title race. Also - yes, we went there - the recently announced 'European Super League' (other super leagues are available) causes sadness, anger, confusion, and Phil talking about EU corporate law, even though no French teams are involved in it...yet.
Alexi and Mosse open the show with predictions for the CONCACAF Champions League games this week (8:44). The guys then talk about MLS’ new concussion substitution trial (36:10). They look at Europe and talk La Liga title race, the ugly incident in Valencia, Premier League race for top four, PSG’s title race hit, Neymar's lack of success in Paris, and Serie A top-four race (41:25). The guys then talk Bundesliga, Erling Haaland & the Champions League quarterfinals. In #AskAlexi, fans ask about keeping US talent in the MLS, Brazilian Ronaldo, issues with MLS and Don Garber. (1:24:48). Finally, Alexi caps the show with his “One for the Road” where he talks and shows off retro kits. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

Kate, Jim and Pete are here with a title race postmortem after Man City’s hugely impressive win at Anfield put further distance between themselves and the chasing pack. Unsuprisingly, Roy Keane was full of that reserved, constructive criticism we’ve come to expect from him after those bizarre Alisson errors. We also look over some other goalfests from this weekend’s action, as Duncan Ferguson’s bear hugs injured several Everton players and Newcastle clung on to the three points that an emotionally battered Southampton tried to prize from their hands. It could be worse for Southampton, mind: we also hear of one Brazilian forward who has received an eight-game ban for whipping out a particular celebration... There’s no such thing as January blues at Manchester City as Pep Guardiola's side win nine out of nine, helped by the wall that is Ruben Dias. Has his impact been bigger than Virgil van Dijk's at Liverpool? In the latest Pitch to Post Review show, Jasper Taylor is joined by Kate Burlaga and Gerard Brand to discuss just that, as well as another goalless draw for Manchester United against a so-called big six side (20:05). Is their title tilt over before it began? And what is success for Arsenal this season? In part three we focus on Newcastle after their shock 2-0 win at Everton (33:39), masterminded by Graeme, sorry, Steve, erm... well, we figure out exactly who deserves the credit. And in part four we look back on a good week for Liverpool and a bad week for Jose Mourinho’s Spurs (43:51), plus the performers, performances and goals of the week.
